Here's one from the late 90's that I really enjoyed. The cast was awesome. I thought Ryan Philippe and Sarah Michelle Gellar did an amazing job playing two totally spoiled and dispicably evil characters.

Reese Witherspoon was appropriately cast and Selma Blair was really fun to watch. She was the perfect wannabe/dork. Even the dude who played Pasey on Dawson's Creek gave a respectable performance.

It's always weird to watch this movie and know that in real life, Reese and Ryan were totally in love and in a relationship. The chemistry is so apparent.

Anybody else like this movie? I think it was a remake of Dangerous Liasons but I'm not sure. Did anyone see that movie either?

I love this movie. It has a lot to do with being a huge fan of SMG and Reese Witherspoon though. The performances were great and the ending is near perfect.

I'm not sure if this was an actual remake instead just another film based on the same source material. Valmont (1989) is another one that is similar to this and Dangerous Liaisons.

cindy, i LOVE this movie. i'm a big ryan fan and i love his outfits in this movie.

funny enough, after watching it over and over, my mom took a liking to it and she made me buy the soundtrack for the counting crow's song, "COLORBLIND."

every character was good. gellar was hilarious in her scenes with selma.

and of course, reese was good as the goody goody and ryan ..(hunka hunka).

Yeah Nowheregirl, I bought the soundtrack for that song too. That scene was really emotional, I thought.

As for Ryan, all I'll say is pool scene...dang!

I want to see this one again. It has been ages. I have forgotten what it was like to see Reese and Ryan on screen together. Were they dating then or did they meet on that movie??

I touched on this in another thread...but instead of dragging it out there. I figure bring it here where it belongs. I'm talking of course about how well Gellar plays the MegaB*tch in this film. By far one of the best.

I need to see this again.
I watched it when it was released on VHS back in the day.
I worked on a video store in ´99-´01 and sold some of the first dvd´s ever in my hometown.
But it was still mostly VHS back in those days.

This movie came out when I was a junior in high school, and I remember friends of mine going to see it and being shocked by how sexual it was (and all anyone could talk about was that kiss between Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair). By today's standards, it's pretty tame. When I finally saw it I found that I didn't care for Ryan Phillippe's character but I loved the b*tchiness of Sarah Michelle and I thought Pacey from Dawson's Creek had kind of a funny role too. Reese Witherspoon was good too, but I liked her better in "Freeway" and "Election."

The soundtrack is really good too, I love the songs "Bittersweet Symphony" and "Colorblind."

I think the late 90's was the start of that whole 'bisexuality is a cool lifestyle choice' thing, which seems to be oddly long-lived.
