I totally remember when I went to see this film when it came out at the theaters, it was after my boyfriend's work Christmas party. I was really looking forward to seeing it I guess because it was kind of an all guy cast and it made me think a little bit about Top Gun.

Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, and Kevin Pollack take on Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, and Jack Nicholson in this 1992 courtroom drama. Jack was nominated for his supporting role in this. "You can't handle the truth"--the most popular line from this film. It is kind of hard for me to picture this as a stage play, but completely possible if it was all set in the court room. I like the way that humor was incorporated into the film that combination with drama when done effectively is very good.

Do you guys have any thoughts on this flick?

Devolution here,

I saw it on a date with my high school girlfriend. I happened to like this movie a lot. Very intriguing. Anyone that likes TV shows like Law and Order, CSI (anything) or such will love this movie. All actors play great parts.

Personally I love any movie set in a courtroom (A Time To Kill, Runaway Jury, etc) and A Few Good Men is an absolutely fantastic movie. Kiefer Sutherland's Lieutenant is one of the finest characters in the movie and is almost equal to Jack Nicholson.

Top notch.

has anyone ever read the book?

i watch this movie everytime it's on tv..it usually plays on AMC channel quite often.

i think the whole cast does a great job...including, the small roles by noah wiley and cuba gooding jr. as well. my favorite scenes are the ones in the court room and the cross examinations between kevin bacon and tom cruise. especially, when jack nicholson finally gets up on the stand....great acting and dialog.

An excellent film that needs to be watched more often by me.

The cast is stellar!

Ronnie.. did I ever tell you the story about Cuba Gooding Jr. calling my acting buddy (Brian) and inspiring him to follow his dream? Part of the reason that I quite enjoy the flick "Judgment Night" that came out about that time.

The sad thing about watching "A Few Good Men" is the fact that I kinda agree with Nicholson's legendary "you can't handle the truth" speech.

Nothing sad about it. He speaks the truth, but he's an unlikeable / immoral character, so we don't want to listen to him. We as viewers are meant to agree (at least understand) what he's saying, then feel guilty because he isn't a nice guy. It would be the easiest thing in the world to have a baddie say 'evil' things, but he says what we know to be true - whether or not we think it's a good thing. It's one of the things that elevates the movie.

A masterpiece, never gets old. Must've seen it a hundred times over the years.

I agree with Nicholson in almost every role. Not because I like the character or what he's saying is right, but because Jack's such a phenomenal, charismatic actor.

I'd hazard a guess to say the majority of people even agreed with him as Jack Torrence, Alex Gates, Frank Chambers, The Joker, Frank Costello and Daryl Van Horne!

In A Few Good Men, end of the day, Col. Jessop presided over a culture of ruthless brutality; it was the culture he was indoctrinated with and the ideology imposed upon the minds of the recruits. Santiago wasn't a lunatic, had obviously seen too much and wanted out, so they killed him. They may not have wanted it to go that far, but weren't concerned if it did as there'd be plenty of fall guys along the way.

The other argument is that if you want to jail Jessop, then jail the entire U.S. government as well; because they made him the man he is today.

My only other issue with the verdict is that though it sends one of the top brass down for the count, which is good. There is an aspect to that which absolves the marines of their individual responsibly, suggesting that the old cliché: 'I was only following orders' somehow still carries water.
