does anyone remember this short lived tv show back in the early 90s? i always thought it was such a cute show. it was about a single mom raising her 5 kids, trying to make ends meet.

the centered around her oldest daughter, who would talk to the man in the moon at the end of every episode.

i guess there was a spin-off show called Almost Home, but i don't remember this one? it had a young brittany murphy!

Ronnie.. I think I actually do remember watching a couple of episodes..

Did someone climb a tree to talk to the daughter outside her window or something?

Maybe it was her just talking to the man in moon you mentioned.

valley, i'm not really sure about the tree climbing part, but it doesn't sound far fetched???

i vaguely remember this show.. it was only on for 2 seasons, and i don't recall seeing every episode. and in the spin-off, i guess they went to live with a rich family, who the mother babysat for. i don't remember that either lol.

but i do know i liked it at the time. i was hoping others here knew of it as well. [Smile]

Ronnie.. I actually liked the show, but always came across it randomly. The reason I remembered it was the name.. The Torkelsons .. which I thought was a unique name.

My memory is that the daughter had a crush on a senior named Riley, but there was another guy more her age that had a crush on her. That is the tree thing I'm thinking off.. she's talking to the man in the moon and the younger guy that liked her is listening to her from the tree.

Also, remember a young Ben Affleck (I think?) playing a basketball player who liked her too.

Overall, it was a memorable show that I would've watched more if I'd known where to find it.

I think I saw a handful of episodes of this back when it was being re-run on the disney channel in the late 90's. I don't really remember much about it except that Brittany Murphy's character was kind of a brat in it? I remember thinking it was pretty cute show.

I totally watched the Torkelsons.....looking at that pic above is actually funny....why did they pose the cast with an old sewing machine hahaha.

I don't remember the spin off show at all.....I just remembering seeing it on Saturdays so I must have watched it in reruns.

i totally remember it being on disney channel, as i think that's when i would watch it.

i know the younger brother, chuckie lee, also played a recurring role on boy meets world and later was cast in the CW teen drama one tree hill.
