How would you rate this one? While one can sense watching it that Hughes by this point was leaning a little too much on the over-the-top-humor that had brought him earlier success, he still manages to put together a reasonable adaptation of the comic, with several hilarious bits and even a moment or two of his patented tenderness. For whatever reason I find myself always paralyzed with laughter every time I watch Dennis ringing the doorbell on the babysitter, and Mr. Wilson's ultimate victimization when she and Buzz decide to strike back ("He's only a boy, huh?").

This one is very high on my list. I remember wanting to have it for my collection more than getting it for my son. I think that Mason Gamble was chosen spot on to play Dennis. I really thought he had potentional of becoming the next Macauley Culkin. He seemed to have disappeared after Dennis the Menace and then reappeared in a supporting role for Rushmore.

The movie was just magical for me. I always watch it whenever it comes on TV.
