So, I was reading a thing on Cameron Crowe and it led to some people to look out for that did cameos in the movie. Of course, we all know that Pearl Jam was with Matt D as Citizen **** and that Chris Cornell made a cameo also, but here are 2 that blew me away!!

1.) Tim Burton was the director for the 'Make A Date' video that Debbie makes.

2.) The loud mouth mime that hitches a ride to the club where the guys are going, is Eric Stoltz!!!

I think I remember seeing Burton in there and thinking it was him, but the Stoltz thing just blows me away!

Good movie to talk about. I loved this film. This is my favorite role so far for Campbell Scott. He has remained relatively quiet as an actor and really hasn't had a breakout role to send him into super stardom.

I guess there was a movie about Dentists but I never saw it. I still cannot believe that his parents were Colleen Dewherst and George C. Scott.

I think that everyone in Singles was well cast. I like it when a film has a cameo in it like this that you are like "wow I didn't think someone like that would do a part like that". To me that is good filmmaking!

Part of Jessie's post about Campbell Scott:

It was called "The Secret Lives of Dentists" (2002).

Campbell also co-directed one movie that I've always wanted to see, but somehow never got around to it. It's called "Big Night" (1996).

Is Big Night the one with Stanely Tucci and it is set in an Italian Restaurant?? If it is that one I think it got good reviews. Steven have you seen The Secret Lives of Dentists? It seems like it was just last year but I guess it was over 3 years ago. Isn't it amazing how time flies!

I can remember going to this flick with my roommates girlfriend and during the whole movie she would just point out the similarities that she saw between myself and the crowd that her boyfriend and I hung out with, and the characters in the film. I was the Supertrain guy (Thank God!)

Devolution here,

One of the first DVD's that I bought. It was well worth it, kick *** soundtrack, really ushered in the age of Grunge and the Seattle scene. "Hi, I was just nowhere near your neighborhood." My favorite part was the party because they were playing "She Sells Sanctuary".

Some really good stuff.

WE are DEVO

Superb movie,i loved it.Totally agree with Devo about the soundtrack-excellent stuff.
I love the sense of humour in this film and the straight to camera quotes.one of my favourite lines is when Campbell is telling the audience of his fathers advice....
''have fun, stay single......I was 8'' and of course the 'SPAM' comment.just hilarious.
another movie which came out around the same time and had a similar 'romance' type theme was Reality Bites which i also loved.Winona Ryder and Ethan Hawke were really good in this movie and another quite funky soundtrack.Although i think Singles is a better movie overall.

I love Singles!

I was 15 and lived in Missouri at the time it came out...I loved the music! The soundtrack is awesome, "State of Love and Trust" I can't help but sing all loud too.

A year later I got to visit relatives in Seattle with my best friend and all we could do was sing "nah nah nah...nah nah nah nahhhhhh" as we walked the streets of Seattle.

Tim Burton's cameo is great as the crazy video dating director...."welcome to Debbie country" It was a great cast and very creative and funny.
Singles has to be a fav 90's Crowe film for me. Now I live in Seattle...probaly had someting to do with it, huh?... [Wink] .
