I just remember how BIG this film was when it came out back in the Summer of 1991 - I was doing my work experience at News International (they print THE TIMES and THE SUN) the GUNS n' ROSES song from the soundtrack, 'YOU COULD BE MINE' was playing on the radio (remember the music video?) and I went out and got the comic, the trading cards, the poster (spent £15 on that!). the only major rival T2 had at the box-office was ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES (a good film also but nowhere near..!) and so it was THE film of the year! I remember how myself and my two best mates went to see it the opening night and were totally blown away! and yes it's easy to see how a bunch of teenage boys who live on junkfood and porn mags would get so excited about a movie like this but I needn't remind you of how popular it was. in this age of constant 'movies-hyped with too much CGI' and God knows how many 'Blockbusters' per Summer, it's good to look back at why T2 was and still is such a wicked film. both Cameron and Schwarzenegger will NEVER reach such heights of greatness again (I mean come on, TITANIC? TERMINATOR 3? please!) I don't imagine there are many of you movie-fans out there who have not seen it and / or own the superb ULTIMATE EDITION dvd... if not? DO IT NOW!!!

I remember watching this one opening weekend too. In fact, that week, I saw it about 3 times. It was just so awesome. It completely blew away my expectations!
I have the poster of him sitting on the motorcycle holding the shotgun in my computer room.
I was shocked to learn later that the movie had a lot less CGI F/X than I thought. Some of the amazing scenes that I thought were CGI were actually just very good makeup, miniature and prop
F/X.
I also own the Ultimate Editon. It's one of my favorite DVDs.
This is one of my top 10 favorite movie of all time!

Awesome movie indeed Raggedyman.

Like you guys, I got to see it when it first came out (hard to believe it was 14 years ago!), my mate and I being left completely slack-jawed at the brilliant pacing and incredibly sophisticated F/X. Don't think I'd go quite as far as Bionic Bigfoot and put it in my all-time Top 10, however.. It'd easily make my Top 10 EXPERIENCES in a movie theatre (#1 probably Ghostbusters [Smile] )

As well as being among the first 'proper' 90s movies - along with Silence Of The Lambs - this was also arguably the last really high quality summer blockbuster, before CG and/or cheesy sentimentality began to overweigh tautness of script (*cough* Jurassic Park *cough* [Mad] ). Yep, legendary stuff!

Plus, how sorted was that trailer they slapped on rentals of Total Recall back in early '91?? Remember where Arnie's T-800 is seen being assembled in the Skynet factory? Made it just about the most anticipated movie ever for me! [Cool]

THAT TRAILER ROCKS!! I'm so happy that it's on the dvd - it's probably THE greatest teaser trailer ever! [Cool]

This is so funny. This is one premier that I remember seeing too. One of my best friends from high school and a girl that she was friends with went to see it. We went to Taco Bell first and ate Mexican Pizzas before the movie. When we went to the show, they carded her because it was R, but they didnt' card us. I think I saw that one with my boyfriend too. He was a big huge Arnold fan.

I really liked the liquid metal thing. It was something new that I hadnt' seen in anything before. I was even excited to see T3 and saw it when it first came out.

This movie could be 105 minutes of Arnold driving around on the chopper and I would still watch it.

This movie was awesome! I was huge on the Gunners already but this movie just put them over the edge. I saw it the weekend after its opening weekend, with my cousin in Sydney, and the cinema was chockers. There wasn't one seat left. I actually think that this movie trumped the original. Eddie Furlong was a total babe as well.
