O.K. this might sound kind of bad but her goes.

My mum is currently living with me but a while back she was living by herself and my brother and I were around her house talking etc...(Both my brother and myself use movie quotes whenever we think we can sneak them in [Smile] ) Anyway my mum was telling us how she didn't have any friends and was lonely - My brother said to her, "Well you're not lonely now are you?" And before she had time to respond I quoted Gordon Gecko in Wall Street and said to her "And if you need a friend, get a dog."

My brother was in tears laughing as was I and I quickly had to explain to mum that it was a movie quote before she got too upset. Yes, it sounds bad but we were quick to let her know it was a joke and then fixed her up with a coffee and toast.

My brother and I were in absolute stitches though and we talk about that from time to time.

Naughty,naughty Bernie [Big Grin]

This is not very nice either but there used to be some old girl on the window cleaning round I used to do with my brother before I started working on my own and we used to tell her a good friend of ours jack burton runs his own transport business and that he drives around in the pork chop express (big trouble in little China) with his partner Wang and we'd drop into the conversation different quotes from the movie and tell her that we was talking to jack Burton and - "do you know what ol' jack Burton used to say to us at times like this - ol' jack used to say what the hell".

I think she knew we were taking the you know what and probably just thought what a pair of idiots

I know it was pretty immature, but I couldn't help myself [Big Grin]

That's classic! I saw that movie at the cinema in 86 and was in tears when he said that. I could just imagine the reaction of the kid you said it to [Big Grin]

My old supervisor used to go around to folks, shake their hands, say his name, and then add, "Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet you." Not quite an 80s quote, but he always squeezed a laugh out of it.

Also at that same job, when a prosecutor was headed to court to handle something, somebody would always be around to say, "Two men enter. One man leaves. Thunderdome." [Smile]

My friend and I were having a water balloon fight in the '90's and we didn't have proper water balloons, so we were using "Happy Birthday" ones. I came around the corner to throw a balloon and sounded like an '80s closing action movie line when I yelled "Happy Birthday, Mother F---er!" That sounds like a Bruce Willis or Arnold Schwartznegger quote to me.

The guy came to cut my lawn yesterday and it was looking like the Amazon. I quoted Dave from Summer School and said, "Sir, you are really gonna earn your money today". He didn't get it and just looked at me kinda puzzled.

My absolute favorite 80s quote is from Sixteen Candles "I can't believe I gave my panties to a geek". Unfortunately I have never had an opportunity to use it, but now I must really think of a way to do so!

Boy, I don't think I have enough room to get them all down on here. I also don't know if my memory will allow me to pull specific examples. I do feel like I quote an 80's movie at least once week, if not more. I love the topic and will have to see if I can get some on here.

Last week when golfing with my wife, I asked if she wanted to keep score, I said "well how will you measure yourself against other golfers.....my height."

Great Wall Street use!!

"Come...lets leave this place" by Schwartzeneggar in Conan the Barbarian. I use it all the time

Glad you liked it gordon. I got another Wall Street one. I once borrowed $50 off my brother and he just put the money in my account. When he had done so he sent me a text message saying "I just made $800,000 in Hong Kong gold. $50 has been wired to you - play with it". I was in tears [Big Grin]

Love the Caddyshack quote. I play golf and am always quoting Caddyshack and Caddyshack 2. Other golfers seem to get annoyed that when their putt is travelling to the hole I am making the nananananana noise.... [Wink]

I have only seen Conan once or twice so I am not that familiar with it [Frown]

The Conan quote that my buddy and I use is "To crush your enemies. See them driven before you and to hear the lamentation of their women." Great dialogue which I understand is a paraphrase of something originally said by Genghis Khan. [Smile]

I use movie quotes whenever possible. My favorite 80's ones would be PeeWee's Big Adventure. Sooo many to chose from, even ordinary phrases are great when you add that distinctive voice [Wink]

Same here. For example when someone is too slow, iŽll be Captain Harris for a while and say "Move it, move it, move it!"

Simple quotes like that make me happy [Smile]

That's a good one aTomiK. I bet you get some good reactions with that.

Keep it up TNT! I would start implementing the karate sounds that he does in Trading Places into your routine also [Big Grin]

That Captain Harris one reminds me of one I used from Mannequin a while back.

About a year ago I got into a pretty bad car accident. My mother and I were not badly injured but if it was any worse we would have been. I was doing the speed limit and I slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting this little rat type dog. The next minute I looked in the rear view mirror and could see a car coming full steam ahead. I had no time to do anything or even warn my mum. I only had enough of a chance to quickly brace up.

Anyway, when I was getting quizzed by the cops etc, a woman came up to me and asked if I knew where her dog was.

I said "Screw your dog!"
