Currently converting many of my old videos to DVD and had the pleasure of watching this classic again for the first time in years.

Still don't know which is worse...an actor doing martial arts or a martial artist acting.

Great movie though, the bit where they pop Alex's shoulder back in always gets me...right here...

Noms [Cool]

I just bought this on DVD. One of my favorites, although the others were not all that good.

If you live in England it's showing on Zone Thriller, sunday at 10pm. I'll record it as we used to finish recording films when the credits started. Along with music when they're running on the beach, 'Something So Strong' plays when they run on the track. Does anyone else like that song?(it was in Baywatch one time as well).

The sequel from 1992 is cool as well with Dae-Han returning as an allie this time along with Eric Roberts, Chris Penn (who gets murdered) and Philip Rhee as Tommy(Dae-Han's brother in real life.)
I like Eric Roberts alot and like many actors I feel he should be in bigger movies, it's hard to find films with him in that I like. I'd reccommend the 2nd very much, with Wayne Newton surprisingly good as the bad guy(he's always seemed a nice man in real life.) Really cool music in it as well.
Eric Roberts and James Earl Jones were teamed up again in The Ambulance, which is also worthwhile.

Watched Best of the Best (1989) yesterday.
Lots of people seem to praise this one but i thought that it was just another supercheesy
80s american martial arts flick.
I enjoyed it but it´s nowhere near a classic.

The plot is very typical and the emotions are so big that the screen almost couldn´t handle them [Cool]
I thought that what was James Earl Jones doing in this one
but i found that he seemed to jump from A movie to B movie during the 80s, early 90s anyway.

The tournament fights were pretty nicely done and i love the Jim Capaldi end credits tune.

Jim Capaldi - Something So Strong

Next: Best of the Best 2.

This is nowhere near "The Best" in martial art films for me personally. But strangely IS one of the ones I've seen the most because it was showed ALOT on HBO, Showtime(ect) back in the 90's. Since I've seen it so much, I've never felt compelled to ever buying this movie in any format. These films pretty much suffer the same fate of cheesiness that the Mortal Kombat films do in my book. Therefore, I will probably never be adding them to the shelves in my movie library.

If there is a highlight in any of these films though. For me, it's easily got to be the final match in the first film between Tommy Lee & Dae Han

Awesome Battle!=)
