I know we could go to the mistakes section for movies but I thought it would be fun to start it here too. Can anyone think of a movie where something was in it that was not supposed to be, i.e. camera crew, boom mics, camera's, reflections? Or anything else you can think of.

I will start

No Retreat, No Surrender:

When Jason goes to the party, a boom mic quickly comes down and goes back up. I could just imagine the editor looking at that and thinking to himself, nobody will notice plus I can't be bothered trying to crop it out.

Great idea Lomax!
In Naked Gun, when OJ Simpson goes down the steps in a wheelchair at the baseball stadium, he hits the railing and goes flying into the air. When he(the dummy in the chair) gets launched you can clearly see the compressed air from the wheelchair burst out into the air.

Call me Bernie...I mean my father is Mr. Lomax... right?

In the 90's movie Judgment night they are in a Road Vehicle (RV. In a scene when their vehicle is lodged between 2 buildings you see them inside the RV and one shot is of the inside roof which is shiny - you can see camera equipment/boom mic on the reflection.

It's great stuff.

In Full Metal Jacket, shortly after Joker meets Animal Mother(Adam Baldwin), another marine pulls the hat off of the dead Vietnamese soldier sitting by him so the photographer can take a pic. You can see the dead Vietnamese soldiers chest breathing.

I just done two updates for Caddyshack. One was a goof and the other was trivia but neither fit this thread.

It's amazing how many times you can watch a movie and still pick up on things. I have seen Caddyshack hundreds of times and I still somehow spot something new every now and then.

If only you could get a degree in 80's trivia. Ahhhhhh..what a nice thought [Smile]

Bernie. When Knight has the confrontation with Kent. Shortly after Kent says , my condolensces on your meltdown, Knight kicks the fridge door, the freezer door opens. You will notice a can of pop in the freezer door. When Knight gets excited and kicks the freezer door the can flies out of the door. In the next shot of the freezer door the can is back in it.

I did discover another one last night while viewing the classic Tuff Turf

Tuff Turf. The big fight toward the end. Spader knocks Nick off the second floor onto the lower level floor. Nick is lying on the ground and a rope is dangling from the ceiling. Watch the bottom of the screen and you will see a hand appear and reach out and grab the rope and sling it back out. When the rope returns to the bottom of the screen the hand reaches out again to grab the rope.

Saw another continuity goof as Bernie calls it in My Science Project.

Watch carefully when Roger Rabbit squeezes through the viewhole into the back of the Toon Patrol's cruiser to release Benny the cab; you'll see a black gloved hand push the live action love letter/will back through the slot into Bob Hoskins's hand.

In MOVING with Richard Pryor. Early on Pryor throws Quaid through a wall and makes a hole in the wall obviously. the next shot the hole is much much bigger.

High School USA is set in the state of Missouri but.....in the scene where the 2 girls and the 2 boys go for a ride in the Trans Am, and the girls are trying to crash the car, which they eventually do, I spotted a palm tree. There are no palm trees in the state of Missouri.

Some good spotting Terd. This is not an 80s movie but I was watching the movie Sanctum (2011) last night. Two guys are crawling through a massive underground cave system that has allegedly never been explored before and they enter one part of it and there is like a sleeping bag or something lying on a rock in the cave. They definitely didn't bring it in and lie it on the rock and they don't comment on it, "Like hey this cave is undiscovered, but what's this sleeping bag doing here?" It's definitely a mistake and I don't know how they did not notice it.

I remember also in the movie Eyes Wide Shut when Tom Cruise and Sydney Pollack are talking in one scene, there is a pool table in the room. The balls change positions a couple of times which might suggest they were playing games in between takes. As a director I would make sure nobody touched the balls at all. Even actors with their experience should be quite knowledgeable about continuity.

I was watching Major League a few weeks back and when Charlie Sheen initially walks into the baseball dorm and is engaged in a conversation with Berenger, from that point on try to keep an eye on the entry door. A guy walks in and then it cuts back to Sheen etc, then goes back to the guy walking in again and then does so another time. It's classic.
