"What do you want?" - "A Kiiisss!"

When Amy’s (Meredith Salenger) mother dies in a nasty accident, her odd, sexy aunt (Joanna Pacula) moves in.  Strange things start to occur that make Amy increasely suspicious of her aunt.. but nobody including her dad believes her.  Kinda bad news for Amy's friends!

Meredith Salenger is fantastic in "The Kiss" and she plays the naive teenager that is trying to figure everything out quite well. While Joanna Pacula is just menacing in this flick and her freaky cat is beyond creepy.

 -

The original screenplay name for "The Kiss" was actually "The Host" and after watching this movie .. I can totally understand why!  That treacherous creature at the end reminded me a bit of the movie "Alien".

And most people will recognize a very young Shawn Levy as Amy's boyfriend.  I always enjoy recognizing someone in a lost 80's movie that has since gone on to a successful career in the film industry.

"The Kiss" was actually better than I remembered.. and if you are a Meredith Salenger fan I definitely recommend it.

Here´s my old comment:

This was highly entertaining horror thriller.
Salenger and Pacula were very hot.
Nice score by J. Peter Robinson. He did lots of good stuff in the 80s.
Also liked those great old skool creature effects by Chris Walas.

the kiss was a real fun 80s horror, have it on dvd but have not viewed it for some time!
joanna pacula was very atractive during the 80s especially in not quite jerusalem aka not quite paradise and in this the kiss where she plays the part of the evil aunt very well!
the effects by chris walas i also remember being pretty decent for what was probably not a mega budget production (though i'm sure it recieved a theatrical run here in the u.k) , i also think i recollect finding the evil cat in it quite comical overall and not the least bit scary!
i'm going to have to grab this one from my shelf for another viewing as it's been some time since i've watched this cool 80s horror flick!

Warrior.. even the director Pen Densham has been quoted as saying that he was disappointed in the effects and especially that darn cat. ha.. and your comical reaction to it is widespread.. but for some reason it still freaks me out when I watch "The Kiss". It was "Caddyshack" gopher fake, but that played into for me.

aTomiK.. glad you are a fan of it as well. Joanna Pacula was wicked in it.

Pen Densham directed this? The same guy who produced the revived Outer Limits series, which is now on DVD? Who wrote this?

Stephen Volk was responsible for the screen story and he together with Tom Ropelewski wrote the screenplay.
