In the Victorian period, David (Aames) and Sarah (Cates), two teenagers, travel with a caravan from Baghdad to Damascus.
At an oasis, the white slave agent 'Jackal' raids them, mainly to add the beautiful young Sarah to his harem of mistresses.
David and Sarah and her manservant, Geoffrey narrowly escape,
but all the others are slain in the massacre including David's American missionary parents.
However, Geoffrey doesn't survive long, as he sees an encampment that, unbeknownst to Geoffrey, is run by the Jackal.
Geoffrey goes to the encampment seeking help but is killed by the Jackal
as the remaining duo takes a rest in a nearby enclave on their westerly direction toward civilization.

Sarah and David's flight leads them to a beautiful oasis—their peaceful place in paradise
—where they discover natural love and their sexuality.
However, the Jackal has not given up on Sarah yet, and David must lure him to his death, or be killed by him.

I watched Paradise yesterday.
It was a decent flick and for Phoebe Cates fans, this is a must have.

It is a Blue Lagoon rip-off at a certain level but it includes more violence and nudity.
Some body doubles were used but the producer said that it´s a 99% Aames/Cates flick.
The cave shower scene is a classic.

Somehow the Paul Hoffert composed theme melody reminds me the Conan the Barbarian movie score, don´t know why.

This movie also includes one of the easiest rescue missions ever filmed,
two chimpanzees (those chimps again!) and oh yeah, this wicked tune:

Paradise (1982) - Trailer

Look at Aames. Certainly rated R material what goes through his mind [Cool]

being female, i will totally admit that phoebe cates was hot stuff in those days...very beautiful.

i have no clue what she looks like now, but i would imagine her not looking too different.

i have always been a big fan of her natural hairstyle and used to try and copy her with the long hair w/ bangs. [Cool]

i haven't seen this movie in a very long time. i barely remember even one scene.

oneyedwilly, I think you will like this on a guilty pleasure/you've-got-to-be-kidding-me level. I know that I do.

Ronnie, so cool of you to recognize the legendary beauty of Ms. Cates. Most gals would try to find something wrong with her. :-) Last time I saw a photo of her, she looked good. She and Kevin Kline have been married for a long tme. Good for them!
