I've got an 80s movie I remember staying up late one night watching (well, my dad was watching it). I dont think I fully "got it", except I remember being a little scared for a long while afterwards. I'm thinking it was a movie-of-the-week type movie. I was born in 1974, so "the 80s" fits timeframe-wise.

I remember the story centered around a woman who I "thought" was Pam Dawber, but looking over her movie credits on imdb, I dont see anything that fits, so I suppose I might be mistaken. [Frown]

I dont remember a lot about the story, except this woman had some sort of mystery going on, I'm thinking it was a stalker. The part I really remember was that at the end, she was on a boat (one of those smaller, houseboat types), and the "stalker" confronted her. It turned out it was someone we the audience already knew and considered a good guy. He was trying to kill her, but she shoots him with a spear gun in the chest.

I also remember the spear gun was foreshadowed earlier in the story, but I dont remember exactly how. (when I hear "Checkov's gun", this movie sometimes pops into my head).

I would love to know what this movie is [Smile]

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I'm familiar with that one, and it's not the one I'm looking for.

Thanks though [Smile]

Oh sorry, Atnor!
Just read your post again and like me, you were born in ´74 so Dead Calm came a little late [Cool]

Pam has one early 80s tv-thriller called Through Naked Eyes but i don´t know if it includes a boat.

I will keep searching because obscure early 80s tv-films are right up my alley.

Thanks, I appreciate it!

I've looked at "Through Naked Eyes" a little bit, but I dont think it's the one either. I skimmed it with my Amazon Prime account and nothing looked familiar.

As I think some more on it, I believe the final boat scene was at night... and I "think" there was a shower scene (safe for TV) [Smile] , ie, she was showering on the boat (maybe in hiding from the stalker?) the guy shows up on the boat, she grabs the spear gun and shoots him through the chest.

I also remember my young brain thinking, "OMG it was her friend after her the WHOLE time!!" I eventually got better at recognizing such plots though [Smile]

Try He Knows You're Alone, or maybe Someone's Watching Me
