"Just when you think you've found the right guy, someone even worse comes along."

This was a good romantic small town dramedy directed by Martin Ritt.

The cast is great:
Sally Field is Emma Moriarty, a divorced woman and Corey Haim his teenage boy Jake.
Once again they have to move into a new town.
James Garner is Murphy Jones, town drug store owner and
Brian Kerwin is Emma´s ex-husband who´s having second thoughts.

Field and Garner have great chemistry and i loved their coversations.
Field has said that her on-screen kiss with Garner was the best cinematic kiss she had ever experienced.
Sally Field, and director Martin Ritt, had to fight the studio, Columbia Pictures,
in order to cast Garner. Luckily they won.

Garner is such a great actor, i also love his work in Skin Game (1971), Tank (1984) and Maverick (1994).

I liked the Florence, Arizona locations and the small town atmosphere.

There´s also a great movie theater scene (they watch Friday the 13th part III),
everyone but the ex-husband has trouble watching the flick and they leave the theater and go play bingo [Cool]

This is a good movie. Kind of sad, but sweet too. Love Corey Haim in this! He doesn't even look like himself at all.

"Murphy's Romance" is an outstanding movie that you appreciate even more as you get older.

James Garner and Sally Fields made an excellent combination on screen.
