Devo .. Why am I still thinking "Career Opportunities" even though the description above doesn't quite match?

aTomik .. too funny.. we have done that several times in the past .. Fast Forward as an example.. which is kind of cool when we match an answer without talking to the other person first.

You actually beat me to this one because while you were out grabbing a link .. I was just blurting out my thoughts.

Well, that is two votes for "Career Opportunities"... where's Devo.. he loves this flick!

Devolution here,

That isn't the movie. She doesn't have friends in the store. It's not it. It does sound familiar though.

Hahahahaha I agree! whoa Devo...ha! [Smile]

it has a possibility of being it no? When it's been some 20 years peoples memories do get hazed.....

I never really loved this movie......I thought Connolly's character was annoying and I don't love Frank Whaley....I never even think of this one being Hughes, you know?

I got a "you guys are the Best" .. and then a "Devo Whip It"..

I totally forgot to preface my answer with 'Don't Feed the Devo' .. but I still think it's the movie and just that memory thingy that Muffy mentioned.

i agree.

i know that when it's been so long since we've seen something, you tend to mesh parts of other movies together. it's possible that it isn't career opportunities but it sounds about right?

I have no idea what movie I am Legend is referring to, but Career Opportunities is a beautiful film for all the right reasons IMO. Look, we discussed it at length, and it only took a few posts before we got to the whole mechanical horse issue!

Devolution here,

Yes. I totally thought some of you were on drugs thinking that was Career Opportunities. Like I said it does sound familiar but not a shot in hell that is his or her movie.

Devo.. I'm sorry you are struggling with not being able to answer this one first. [Wink]

I hope i-am-legend watches it and returns to confirm or deny if "Career Opportunities" is indeed the flick. I do agree that the description above is intertwining about three different movies in my opinion..

I do. It's just one that seemed to slip out without anyone noticing at the time. I agree about Connelly, she seemed almost nasty, but I think there was some 'truth' to her behavior.

I think you might be selling the guys a little short [Wink] . It takes more than Jennifer Connelly on a horse to make a whole movie enjoyable - one scene maybe, but not a whole movie. Speaking for myself; if they cut the scene it would have made no difference at all to how much I like the film - none. Here's why I like it: It was the last Hughes teen movie of the 80's; It had some Hughesian magic and dialogue sprinkled around; I related to the character of Jim and how completely lost he was; I thought the film had a premise that could have made it a great movie if done right. I agree however, that it was lacking something. Another character maybe? A better arc? Something.

Gazillion is the correct figure.

I'll throw one in; 'Mannequin'.
