"Attention all students. You are being watched. Every day you wake, every purse you take, every test you fake, every wrong you make, every rule you break will put your lives at stake... from the Brotherhood of Justice."

 -

"The Brotherhood of Justice" is a made for tv movie from 1986.  I thought it was quite interesting that large portions of it were filmed in Santa Cruz, California similar to the movie "The Lost Boys" which actually changed the name to Santa Carla because Santa Cruz didn't want to be called the "murder capital of the world".

 -

Another similarity between the two films is that both movies feature Kiefer Sutherland though his roles were total polar opposites.

So why should you watch "The Botherhood of Justice"?

Let's start with the cast.. Keanu Reeves, Lori Loughlin, Kiefer Sutherland, Billy Zane, Don Michael Paul (Aloha Summer & Lovelines), Darren Dalton (The Outsiders & Red Dawn), Gary Riley (Summer School), and Danny Nucci (Explorers).

 -

"When we hit somebody, we do it as the Brotherhood... and we leave a calling card so they and everybody else learns a lesson. No screw ups. "

Another reason to watch "The Brotherhood of Justice" is the vigilante premise of high school students that are tired of vandalism and violence at their school to the point that they seek their own form of justice.  What started out as what seemed to be a good idea that soon spirals out of control.

But for me.. the most compelling reason to watch "The Brotherhood of Justice" is the fact it was loosely based on a true story.  The movie was developed around the events in Fort Worth, Texas where seven J. L. Paschal high school students formed a 'secret society' known as 'The Legion of Doom' which decided to take matters into their own hands.  What is quite interesting is the fact that these guys were actually the popular rich kids in school and up to that point had never been in any kind of trouble with the law.

I've heard there was an excellent Rolling Stone article on the actual real life events.. need to seek it out.

Has anyone seen the other movie based on these events called "Dangerously Close"?

Oh and I thought this was cool.. "The Brotherhood of Justice" was originally planned to be developed into a tv series.  Makes me wonder if the careers of Reeves, Loughlin, and Sutherland might have taken different paths it that had occurred..

Finally, I found the movie on hulu.com for anyone that might want to watch it..

Just watched The Brotherhood of Justice.
It was a good movie, nice to see all the people you mentioned.
I also liked Joe Spano (Hill Street Blues) as the principal
and the short but cool role from Danny De La Paz (3:15 The Moment of Truth)

I´ve always loved composer Brad Fiedel´s style (The Terminator, Fraternity Vacation, Fright Night etc.),
once again pretty strong score from the man.

In my opinion it was better this way, to make just one movie,
because i don´t think that there would have been enough ideas for ongoing series here.

Check it out guys!

aTomik.. totally agree on Joe Spano and Danny De La Paz. Both had very memorable roles.

I need to trackdown a copy of "3:15"..

I love this movie, yet when I saw this thread I was still secretly hoping it was going to be about forming our own Brotherhood of Justice...or maybe Brotherhood of Rewind!

Uh.. for a guy with a name like Secret.. you sure aren't very good at keeping one.

Hey .. just thought of this.. do you think the carousel they met at was the same one that was used in the "The Lost Boys" as well?

Most likely, Valley.
I loved the locations and the school looked pretty cool.

This was one of those little TV movie gems that always stuck in my mind. The UK video cover always looked really gritty. Good little movie. Keifer had some really interesting roles in his early years.
