Anyone seen this? I'm a big fan of Dolls...in fact, I need to watch it some night this week but I've never viewed this one...worth the watch?

I picked up the movie Dead Silence for $4.99 on DVD yesterday and eventhough it's a new movie it has a similar appeal as Dolls and Child's Play.

I've seen it twice. I think it's pretty good. I really liked Dead Silence--so much I paid $19.99 for it when it was new!

Dolls scare me !!! [Big Grin] I remember a twilight zone episode that had a creepy doll that came alive and terrorized the little girl who owned its father. Was a good one.

WOW thats awesome, somebody else remembers that episode aswell. I remember watchin it as a kid when they played the 24 hour T.Z. marathon. That was the one episode that stuck in my head. Rarely do they make em like they used to.

That is my all time favorite TWILIGHT ZONE ep! Everytime they play TZ marathons I tune in for that one. My husband gave me the complete TZ collection on DVD. It doesnt matter- if I know the Talky Tina ep is on TV I HAVE to watch it!

I saw DOLLY DEAREST when it was on VHS and I have absolutely no memory of it so its on my NETFLIX que. I saw soooo many horror movies in the '80s (and 90s and 00s) that THAT one just doesnt register in my brain as being anything special but Im willing to give it another shot.

My best friend gave me DOLLS on DVD - now THATS one I saw in the 80s and remembered every little detail! Since Ive watched it twice. In fact I watched it last week and my daughter walked in and talked through the last 15 minutes so I have it still out so one day when ive got 15 minutes to kill I can pop it in and JUST watch the end!

I loved DEAD SILENCE. Dolls are already creepy. VENTRILIQUIST dolls are TERRIFYING! (My husband keeps saying hes going to buy me one)

What do you guys think of the CHILDS PLAY movies? I never really understood the appeal. I think the first ones incredibly corny (I own it though. LOL!) I loved the BRIDE OF CHUCKY one (own it) but did not think much of the rest of the series. I cant believe a lot of Horror fans hold Chucky in the same ranks as icons like Freddy Krueger and Michael Meyers.

Childs play doesnt rank up anywhere with these movies, its a doll/slasher movie. The only real slashers I like are fri the 13th. I prefer more of the creepy feeling rather than a doll that just goes around killin folks. [Big Grin] Chucky should definetely not be ranked with any of the big guns of horror. Just my opinion though, I have friends that still wear Childs Play t-shirts. Its very fun to make fun of them. [Smile]

i'm not a chucky fan at all and never was.

Those ARE cool. I also want a Blythe Doll which were popular in the 70s and you can find them on eBay.

I have a small collection of "action figures" from the HELLRAISER movies, an Ozzy doll and a Gene Simmons doll and originally the plan was to collect a few new ones on birthdays and Christmases...but my daughter and her friends were afraid of the dolls so they spent more time hidden in a dresser drawer then on display so I stopped. Now thats he's older she stumbles across this stuff and its like "Mom,did you know they make EVIL DEAD dolls? Mom, did you know they make BRIDE OF CHUCKY DOLLS?" so hopefully in a few years I can go back to collecting that stuff. I'll be in my 40s by then. How sad.

I liked the first Child's Play and that was about it. I was at the Virgin Megastore in Orlando a few years ago and they had this huge Chucky doll. I started to buy it just to have it but then changed my mind.

I really like 1 and 3. The others are terrible but still good for a laugh.

I remember when my nieces were little they had a MY BUDDY doll (if you dont remember him look on eBay) and whenever I babysat theyd bring it to my house and put it in the bed with me when I fell asleep - stuff like that. Then when i had a daughter of my own they made a big Production number out of giving HER the doll , knowing how much I hated the damn thing!

There was a KID SISTER doll too but we didnt have that one - Thank the Lord. And around the same time those were popular there was a doll called CRICKET that upped the creepy by TALKING. I have been trying to find a cheap one on eBay for my best friend whose also creeped out by dolls.

My daughter used to have MY TWINN (a doll modeled to look JUST like your child) and the AMERICAN GIRL dolls which are very popular. I used to hate when she had a nightmare and made me sleep in her room - its creepy having real looking dolls watching you while you try to sleep!
