These are the best when you have absolutely no idea someone has a cameo or role in the flick and they just sorta randomly pop out unsuspected.(Although usually they are prominently featured on the video box, and thats why you rent the movie - that usually sucks- in the first place!)

How many Rockers have we seen pop up in horror movies (or any other type of movies)?

Alice Cooper - in MONSTER DOG, PRINCE OF DARKNESS and FREDDY'S DEAD

Blackie WASP Lawless in DRAGONSLAYER (apparently he also had teeny roles in THIS IS SPINAL TAP and The VILLAGE PEOPLE movie CANT STOP THE MUSIC,although I have yet to spot him in either)

Lita Ford - a hitch-hiker on the HIGHWAY TO HELL (Lita also appeared as herself in an episode of the '80s TV show HERTMANS HEAD)

Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons - In TRICK OR TREAT

* I also just remembered Alice 'master thespian' Cooper also appeared in one of the WAYNES WORLD movies (I think it was the first one).

Can anyone think of any other ones????

Great topic Mamamia!

I saw Miami Vice episodes where Ted Nugent played a bad guy, also Leonard Cohen as well.

Toni Basil was an actress way before Mickey, and she was in Easy Rider much to my disbelief!

Terri Nunn of Berlin also did some pre-fame acting and was in the disco film Thank god it's friday.

Billy Idol was hanger on guy in the Doors, love that Turkey scene!

Lee Ving(singer of Fear) and Ron Wood had cameos in the party scene of the Wild Life.

Anthrax were in a Married with Children episode.

Mick Jagger in Freejack (1992 & Terrible!)

Bowie in Labyrinth (1986 & awesome - just bought it for my 6 month old for his collection. Do I need to admit it was probably really for me?)

Sting in The Bride (1985 - Does anybody remember thos one? I am sure I have seen it, but probably not since 85/86. I remember it had Ms. Flashdance Jenifer Beals in it though).

Sting in Dune (1984 - Boooo)

I think there were some Chili Peppers in Point Break and wasn't Flea in Back to the Future II? The guy Marty was going to race?...maybe that was the end of part III.

and how can we leave out the seminal 80's flick Purple Rain starring the little man himself...PRINCE!

Oh yeah and I remember there was a guy in Road House that played in a band at the bar Dalton went to clean up...

You're right...This is cool topic...loving this one!

I thought this was only horror, otherwise I could list about 15 movies for Jon Bon Jovi. He was also on Sex and the City, The Office, The West Wing, plus a couple other tv shows.

How could I forget Dee Snyder in Strangeland?!?!?!

Yeah, people seem to have thrown out the OP's criteria about horror movies...now we're just doing rock stars in movies period. I'm just waiting for someone to broaden it more by listing rappers next. [Big Grin]
