Just watched from Netflix. I'm suprised at how much I remembered, having not seen it since 85! Also a little surprised by how cheesy it was! Still loved it!

This is a movie that I wanted to see oh so badly when it came out in theaters and my Mom wouldnt let me. Then when I was a teenager my friends rented it and although it started out promisingly it sorta got cheesy and disappointed.

But now that its on DVD part of me wants to re-visit it!

I just remember thinking it was a great premise at the time because everybody was (and still is!) so obsessed with losing weight that I'm sure even if peopel KNEW The Stuff could kill them they'd eat it anyway just to knock off ten pounds!

I was making an order from Amazon last night and I seriously considered buying The Stuff. I remember seeing it as a kid.

I agree that "The Stuff" was a great premise, but I was disappointed that it wasn't a better movie.

It reminds of something from the John Carpenter "Body Bags" trilogy called "Hair" starring Stacy Keach and Sheena Easton. Does anyone remember that show?

Yeah I remember Body Bags. I liked the one about the gas station attendant.

Chocolate Chip Charlie's last scene is memorable.
If you have netflix, of find it cheap enough on Amazon, go for it. But if you've never seen it before and don't have that nostalgia factor, I don't know if it's for you!

pettyfan, the first short "The Gas Station" was actually my fav of the trilogy as well. I would recommend "Body Bags" to any fans of the movie "Creepshow".

The Stuff is great fun. It kind of fits into that niche of campy horror like Gremlins or Night of the Comet.
