It's on Amazon for sale right now.

I was thinking of getting it, now that we can play Blu-Ray movies. I honestly could not tell much of a difference in the movie quality.

I have gone to electronic stores and looked at the line up of TVs and I can not tell from one to another which one looks better.

Sometimes when you see things too clearly- and your not use to that...I think it looks weird, like it makes it look like a video game, and looks more un real than on a regular TV.

The original "Lost Boys" on Blu-ray is quite the treat. Nothing currently compares to the pic quality of 1080p in my opinion. I was hesitant at first if it would be worth the coin for 80's flicks on Blu.....for me it is like watching the movies again for the first time.

I can tell a huge difference in the movie quality as compared to a regular dvd player and tv. Picked Lost Boys up on Blu-ray this past Tuesday and the picture quality was awesome!

You're right about the stunning quality, but I only just replaced my entire VHS colection. This is becoming too much like hard work, you know there's HVD, Tapestry Media and even basic concepts of a flash drive movie library on the horizon, thats right, Blu-Ray is over before its begun.

I'm going back to Betamax...No, I'm going back to live, in-house theatre, Al Jolson and the music hall: "Maammi"!

Kash, I totally agree that new stuff is always on the horizon, but if you keep waiting....then you will never buy. Seldom have I ever had buyer's regret because I usually get the cutting edge stuff toward the beginning of the cycle. Not the very beginning because of the ridiculous prices, but close enough that most people would still be sticker shocked. Let's put it this way, I've had an 1080 HDTV for over 8 years. I do tons of research before I purchase and upgrade when necessary.

I do understand what Isis is saying as well. For some people, the pic quality and sound are not that crucial, so why spend all that coin? Sometimes I ask myself that question too, but then I buzz the tower and everything makes sense again.

My friend picked up the new Lost Boys Blu-ray and we watched it...and we watched a few other titles as well...and to tell you the truth...I don't see what all the hype behind Blue-Ray is?...It doesn't look much different than DVD to me. If anything it's only slightly better...but nothing worth blowing an extra $2-300 bucks over. I don't know..maybe it's just me...but with the state the economy is in and amidst all the finacial crisis in the world...I just find Blu-Rays to be one of the biggest wastes of money out there right now. But I guess that's already painfully obvious to see considering that the electronic stores that carry all the high-tech gadgets & gizmos are all going out of business. And I've already read a few online articles that say Blu-Rays are going to be discontinued just as fast as they started.

Blu-ray movies are really way over priced IMO especially if you go to a chain store like Best Buy (i.e., 30 frickin dollars for Point Break on Blu-ray no way I'm paying that) or Wal-Mart. I buy some of mine off amazon and some off ebay. At the same time, I remember regular DVD's being really over priced as well when I bought my first player back in 2002 so it really runs in cycles.........

I got a Blue Ray for Christmas and only have one movie...The Dark Knight. I actually notice quite a difference in quality, but, simply can't jusify the prices. Ditto what Kash said...I spent some good coin catching up with DVD and am rounding 200 with just my 80's movies...can't imagine starting over. If I won the lotto...I'd start over. I'll certainly not rule blue Rays out, but I think I'll reserve my purchases for really good sales, my all time favs, or for movies that deserve the HD treatment....meaning...I don't need a HD copy of Tootsie....but would consider it for Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings, 300...the really visually stunning stuff.....

I got a Blu-ray for Christmas also and I only have two Blu-ray movies. Yes there is a big difference in quality, but I don't see paying a huge price for them. I can play my regular DVDs in it so why switch until I actually have to?

BLU movies are only worth the buy if it's on sale.
