Devolution here,

Oh man! I thought you were going to say that it was.

Now I'm upset.

Great movie. Kristy Swanson before she was anything. Not to mention the best pass in basketball history.

Kristy Swanson was babe-a-licious in her pre Buffy days.

I have a really large vido collection of Horror movies. Whenever my kids friends pester me to put on a horror movie I put on DEADLY FRIEND because it isnt really that gory or scarey so the kids dont egt all screwed up by watching it (I used to put on CHILDS PLAY....but, well, that didnt always go over so well with the neighbor parents!)
They play DEADLY FRIEND on tv from time to time and its such a waste to watch it on TV cuz they totally dont show the basketball shot!
The movie is about a nerdy kid played by the guy who played Albert on LITTLE HOUSE ONB THE PRARIE. He has a little robot butler he made that follows him around named BeeBee. He meets the cute girl next door (Kristy Swanson) who is being abused by her father. They also live near the meanest old lady neighbor in the world THROW MOMMA FROM THE TRAIN/ THE GOONIES star Anne Ramsey. She shoots up BeeBee on Halloween night. One night Kristy Swanson gets in a scuffle with her Pops and gets badly hurt, rushed to the hospital and Dad quickly arranges for her to have the plug pulled (!) "Alebert" steals the body from the hospital and using the computer chips he had left over from BeeBee re-animates the girl, but she's sort of a zombie now, thus: Deadly Friend.
Well, I liked it. I know alot of people who were disappointed by it...but I like it.

I was a fan of this movie when this came out and vividly remember the basketball scene. I remembered it looked so unreal that you started laughing because you couldn't believe what you saw. Please bring this on DVD, I mean it's a Wes Craven flic.

Never seen this one, but after reading this thread, as well as others on IMDb, I definitely want to. Too bad it isn't on DVD yet. :-/

Good news! Warner Home Video just recently participated in an online chat, during which they mentioned that they are releasing Deadly Friend on DVD later this year.

I missed seeing this also but remember seeing Kristy in the 2nd Mannequin movie. She definetly was a babe pre-buffy (not that there's anything wrong with her now).
