Found this on the net...it's kind of cool to watch but I don't think the music that's playing in the background works. It sounds like it should be in Porky's or something.

Thanks for posting that, I love this movie and I love this trailer. Those voiceovers in the 80s bring back sooo many memories.

Could you imagine a movie like this being made today?

no.

and here's why my answer is no.

the 80s were an idealistic time, there was the fear of possible wars with the ussr/usa nuclear tensions, but people looked to the future with pure hope. and people were into what ever they did, you were free to develop your ownn style. a lot of focus was given to fighting for yourself, staying in shape and making money - being independent and having fun. it was a time of free spirits, I think, that's how I feel about it anyway, even though I was in kindergarten in the late 80s, but the atmosphere stayed with me I guess.

the 90s were way more bitter, a time of tolerance - where the 80s were a time of acceptance. that's the biggest difference.

there is a sense of the 80s now too, that's because we have reached a cultural point wheere styles are not defined by the age we live in. howerver, this is mostly a time of too much talk, and not enough action (example: blogs), graet commercialsm and people wanting to be famous for no true reason and with no skill.

so there, that was my rant. tell me what you think.

keep the 80s spirit alive!
