Valley Girl has my all time favorite movie lines ever.

Tonight I heard another one, when I saw a clip from the movie...where they are driving...and the song "I la, la, la, love you" is playing...

Stacey says...Randy could you put the top up...and Fred says "remind me to never take you anywhere again".

(or something to that effect)

I love that.

I agree that Valley Girl is packed with classic lines.

One that pops into my head is when Randy gets thrown out of the party after fighting with Tommy and Fred is kind of hiding behind a girl. They throw Fred out and as soon as they are shutting the door he says:

"Now I don't wanna hurt you guys".

Then Randy goes

"What are you doing in there Fred, kissing girls good night?"

That part is funny, but the next line is classic:

That chick Julie, she's truly dazzling [Cool]

Keep viewing because the best part is when Stacey replies "I'm Sure" sarcastically, then watch closely as Fred starts playing air guitar to the song in the backseat. Cameron Dye's performance is so underrated in this movie.

I did pick up on the "I'm Sure: line..

There is a line that fred says in the car...that I have absolutely no clue what the heck he's saying...or what it means...replay it and watch it...he's looking at the people walking by and he says something really bizarre... I'll have to replay it and see if I can even come close to actual words for it.

I love Stacey's face...she actually looks so freaked out. She looks like she's going to start bawling.

I like when Nicholas Cage says....No way man, you didn't just do that... I'll see you later!!

I love the look on Julie's face too...it is so real.

If I recall correctly that song isn't on either one of the soundtracks. Such a shame, it is a fun song.

I seem to like the line jerk Tommy uses, when he says" what other guy in the valley can touch me?" On the extras, Lee Purcell talked about Tarantino kidding around with him on that line.

I like too when they first go to the club and Randy and Julie are confronting one another, saying the girls are ^&*?# programmed, then the girls reply sarcastically "what does it take to be so street?" Also earlier when they are driving into Hollywood, Randy is kidding the girls by saying, "when they attack the car, remember to save the radio." Hilarious.

Wow, say it ain't so, I'll believe it when I see it. There have been so many proposed sequels and remakes of late, they say Ghostbusters 3 is on now. But VG, set in the 80's again? They better not modernize it.

my favorite scene............in the club:

"So when can I see you again?"

OMG I love that whole scene.......it's the glares back and forth....the whole sweetness of just meeting someone you like and feeling that crazy feeling it's supposed to happen......one of my favorite movie scenes ever....Foreman and Cage had chemistry

It's still such a trip in that scene, a baby Nic Cage in all his wide eyed youthful exuberance.

Muffy,

You are so on target with regard to what makes "Valley Girl" my fav movie.

Of course, I enjoy the entire experience, but the club "SO WHEN CAN I SEE YOU AGAIN!" scene and the bathroom "Anything" scene are the driving force behind what makes "Valley Girl" so special in my opinion. Cage and Foreman were tripendicular ya know.

Actually 80'sRocked, "Valley Girl" was the beginning of the Nic Cage legacy. He auditioned as Nicolas Cage to prove himself without the use of the Coppola family name. Martha Coolidge, the director, claims she didn't know who he was, but I find that hard to believe.

btw, did you ever watch this movie?

I love when Tommy says "Is this movie in 3D", and Randy says "No, but your face is".

That actually is my favorite.

I love when Randy goes to all the places they are on dates...at the drive through food place, when he brings the food out...and Tommy says...you forgot our fries...and Randy says" well peter piper pecked a peck of pickled peppers...I guess I did"...and then he spits his gum on Tommy. Love it!

I also like..."he's got the bod, but his brains are such bad news".

The whole movie is one gigantic tag line.

Your right again as usual. I forgot this was his first Cage appearance. Now I remember that interview he did with Coolidge in the extras on the DVD. I only watched in once a bit back. I gave some opinions on it on the "last 80's movie you watched" thread if you want to check it out.
