Oh no! Not THE HUGA BUNCH AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

Little girl with boyish haircut named Bridgette has grandma that lives with family. Family thinks its time to put granny in a home. little girl is sad. while hugging new stuffed animal that granny gave her girl hears giggling. looks through wavy bedroom mirror and sees a puppet huggabunch thing stick its head into the room. it enters room. they become friends. they go through the mirror to land of hugs to get grandma a special fruit that will make her young again. but-alas! the fruit is guarded by an evil queen. long journey full of singing dancing puppets. they get the fruit, get home...but while re-entering the bedroom through the mirror little girl stumbles and drops fruit that vanishes if it touches ground. Girl hugs grandma ...grandma is "rejuvenated" by hugs and stays!

So maybe this is a dumb question but...I remember Huggabunch stuffed animal things. Is the movie based on them or are they based on the movie or are they two completely different things? I've seen people post about the Huggabunch movie but I don't guess I've ever seen it.

I think they went hand in hand: making the dolls and the special at the same time....so that kids could buy the stuffed dolls after seeing the movie.

After all the talk of this movie on here, I will accept nothing short of a special edition 2 disc Huggabunch DVD.

I think I agree with Devo. Not seeing this doesn't make me a bad person. Cause it sounds so dumb. Sorry if anyone here likes it!! [Smile] I think I'll wait on that special director's cut, LOL...

Gennie James as the little girl
I agree about the boyish haircut but it was the late 70s/early 80s - that stupid belief that you had to make girls as boyish as possible to make them equal - some of that is still around today unfortunately [Frown]
