Universal is finally releasing the 1989 cult-hit, The Wizard, on R1 DVD! It is coming on August 29th, and will be presented in anamorphic widescreen.

The movie stars Fred Savage, Luke Edwards, Jenny Lewis (now of Rilo Kiley fame), Christian Slater and Beau Bridges.

Finally, almost broke down and bought a crap e-bay copy. Any special features? Or is this the cut rate version?

the only way i wood by this movie on dvd is it had special feturs becouse i bought the orignal tape used very cheep at blockbuster and i realy do not see them adding special fedures to this movie wich is a shame

No word on any special features, Riptide. :-/ Well, at least it's anamorphic WS...

According to DavisDVD.com, Universal has moved the release date for "The Wizard" up a week from August 29th to August 22nd.

I have no news on Monster Squad, Chucky.
