The can't buy me love thread reminded me of this aother great Dempsey film. The plot is so hilarious, working as a pizzaboy trying to earn extra cash. When women order extra anchovies on their pizza.... well we know what they really want.

I love how funny this film is when things start falling apart and all hell breaks loose.

I also remember Cher's ex boy-toy Rom Camilletti, an Italian immigrant who thinks he is in love with Randy's(Dempsey)mom.

Anybody else like this flick?

Everybody I know has seen this flick at least once. When I worked in an office I said "Who here has seen LOVERBOY?" Everyone raised their hand. Then I said "Who here has seen SCHINDLER'S LIST?" and all the hands went back down. I said that spoke volumes about our society.
A guy I worked with had an argument with me that the movie is called PIZZABOY, not LOVERBOY! I didnt have FAST REWIND or IMDB back then to back me up.
I haven't seen it in years. Is it on DVD?

I thought Mike Reno was amazing in this movie. Boy the guy could sing.

Oh wait this wasn't about the band was it?

LOL, no but one of my guilty pleasures is listening to their tune "Turn Me Loose". That's a great song.

Yes, it does, unfortunately.

I would've been the only one whose hand would've been raised on Schindler's List and down on Loverboy (the movie, as well as the rock band!)

I like Mike Reno and LOVERBOY too. I remember seeing him on VH1 in the late 90s talking about how sick he is of people walking up to him and saying "Do you still have those red leather pants?" I crack up whenever I think about that.

This movie was pure fun when it came out. I always watch it every few years, it just has a great balance of humour, hijinks and sincerity. Also Depmpsey's love interest in the movie was also someone who I wondered why she didn't get more popular. Her name will come to me soon if I can think of it.

Riptide, I think her name was Nancy Valen. She was in "The Heavenly Kid" which is a movie I have always liked as well.

I was a Jr. in High School when this movie came out ans we started ordering pizza with extra anchovies from AJ's Pizza in Mesa, AZ thinking this would help us with the ladies. Little did we think of how this would make our breath smell [Confused] Boy do I miss the good old 80s. [Cool]
