There may be spoilers ahead...just a warning.

Well, here's my new obsession. After the movie I thought, "No way am I watching the show, the movie was much better." But, well, I gave in to temptation and watched the show . . . I've seen most of the first season and it's awesome. The pace was too fast in the first episode, I think, but they had to establish the character, put him in a coma, let him have visions, and save a few lives all in that timespan. Once I got used to the pace I thought the show was great. I'm always the last person to get in on the good shows.

[Oh, and if you're posting, please don't post any spoilers for anything past season one--I kinda want to see it. Movie spoilers are okay.]

wow, Lupa... I watched season 1 a couple of years ago and really loved the show. I just got season 2 for Christmas and am about to start watching it too! I'll probably start next monday.
When I bought season 1 there was a coupon to send off and get a bonus disk... I did and it was a different version of the pilot...it was the same show, but a couple of the characters were being played by different people. I'm glad they decided to make the changes because I really like David Ogden Stiers as Rev. Purdy...it was someone else in the other version.
I think Anthony Michael Hall does an amazing job in this show. When the show premiered a few years back I was shocked to see what he looked like now. He sure has changed a lot from the little whimpy nerd of the '80s.

I enjoyed the tv show much more than the movie.

Definitely, the film was good for it's time but the tv show is much better, took a while to get used to a much older Anthony Michael Hall but he's great in the role. I'm wondering how things will progress in season 5, if they make it, because they've been dragging on a subplot for a few seasons now and they don't seem to be resolving anything.

It's kinda like Stargate, I like the film but I love the SG1 tv series, Atlantis is an ok spin-off but nothing special, I'm just very annoyed Jack O'Neill (with two l's) has effectively left the SG1 show at the end of season 8, and they have season 10 in the works... Jack better come back...
