I started watching it last night, but the tape was goofing up, so I had to stop it...but I realized I had seen this movie before, and that I loved this movie.

I knew it as soon as I saw the cop that plays Lea Thompson's boyfriend because I dated a guy in the 80's who looked just like him....and I never knew the name of the actor in the movie....but I looked him up...and his name is "Hart Bochner". He is CUTE! He was cute....he still is pretty cute...now that's what I am talking about, about what a cute guy was/is. [Wink] [Eek!]

Is this movie out on DVD? Cause I definately want to have it.

Wild Life is sadly not on DVD. It really should, with all the actors in it(Stoltz, Moranis, Quaid, Penn, Ilan Micheal Smith, Thompson, Wright, even Rolling Stones Ronnie Wood has a cameo for pete's sake. A strong soundtrack as well. I don't know what the deal is for it not being on DVD, but such lesser 80's movies have come out and this hasn't, causes some head scratching.

The party scene in this movie is so great, that I have had to watch that scene numerous times.

I have not seen this movie since it was in the theater! It was a good flick. Wish it would come out on DVD, then I'd either rent or buy it.

I don't want to buy a bootleg DVD of this movie so I am still holding out hope that clearer heads will prevail and there will be a petition or something.

In a perfect world, we should have new official dvd's of Wild Life, Night of the creeps, Solarbabies, Rad, Zapped 1+2, Spring Break, Fire with Fire, Legend of Billie Jean and even something like Pretty Smart or Smooth Talk. Not to mention a Square Pegs box set with all kinds of extras.

Loved the theme by Bananarama. An underground 'posterchild' song of the 80's

It was cool seeing Chris Penn rather skinny and sporting blonde curly hair. Who knew that 10 years later he would appear in Resevoir Dogs?

He was built in this movie, not just skinny, he looked like he worked out...his hair was too blonde though. He looked alot like Sean Penn, and I was having Fast Times deja vu moments just in the beginning of the movie when he was at the 7-11 type store and seeing Eric Stoltz. I was like...hmmmmm....Some Kind of Wonderful Meets Fast Times meets Weird Science....that's what this movie was...all rolled in to one.

Yeah, it's a reall mish mash of other great 80's film alumni all rolled into one. Funny, the TV repairman that Chris Penn befriends is actually none other than Lee Ving. A punk singer for the punk band Fear. At John Belushi's request, Fear played Saturday Night Live in 82 as the musical guest. The performance got out of hand and a riot broke out, and producer Al Michaels pulled the plug. For years they never repeated that episode.

You couldn't have said it better Isis! I love this movie!! It's one of my favorites and I can't believe it's gone this long without a DVD release. Cameron Crowe seems to be ashamed of this one for some reason. Fast Times it wasn't but it is still worthy of some recognition. I liked Jenny Wright's character. I thought she looked hot, eventhough her hair was so short. I liked the friendship between her and Lea. Ilan was awesome as Jim. That character had sooo much potential! Finally, the soundtrack is rad! I love the Bananarama song, "In the Metal of the Night" and all the other cool Van Halen stuff like "Donut City"...hahaha!

"Whatda ya got that's fresh?"
"Oh everything's fresh..."

Some of my favorite actor/actresses appear in this film. Funny, a few years ago i bought this Bananaram video compilation on e-bay and it had the video for the Wild Life, and it had clips of the movie in it, kind of akin to Modern Girl's Depeche Mode video for But Not Tonight.

Now that's what I mean about how different the styles were in the 80's, including hair styles.

I had a black and white shirt almost exactly like Jenny Wright's shirt in that picture, only with a V-neck.

Dang...I hate that they don't make cool clothes any more.

Although some of the fashions were over the top people really has a pride in their appearance in the 80s. So much "moose" (that stuff you put in your hair: mouuse?? how do you spell it) Even on the guys! (Well, okay not the little metalhead kid who made bombs..but everyone else. Even Chris Penn is stylin'!)
I love this movie and find it very under-rated. It had a little more substance than the average "Lets get Laid" teen flick. I don't know why it wasn't a bigger hit. I watch it about once a year paired with FAST TIMES.

(in the list of other movies it reminds us of put THE RIVERS EDGE....there was a crazy older guy the kids hung ouyt with in both: Randy Quaid, Dennis Hopper....)
