Hey all... my first post here... [Smile]

i'm doing an article about 80's dvd's to celebrate the release of Dynasty in Europe soon...

Any help would be muh appreciated...

am looking for... HQ pictures of Dynasty and i need to make a few top 10 lists in these categories...

Comedy
Thriller
Horror
Drama
SF
Action
Adventure
And a special category Shelley Long/Bette Midler

The films that top the list are:

Comedy: Airplane
Horror: Evil Dead
Drama: Heathers
Action: Still looking (options?)
SF: Still looking (options?)
Adventure: Raiders Of The Lost Arc
Thriller: Eyes Of Laura Mars

The movies should represent the 80's the best in every way...

So, if any of you could help me, make those top 10's... Also if you have HQ pictures of the top movies then my life will be much less stressfull now...hehe

Hoping for some good responses
Thx
eric

Hello KlaSh-E,

Sounds like a neat project. I think the movie "Eyes Of Laura Mars" is from the late 70's though.

For Sci-Fi - I like Terminator, Back To The Future, The Empire Strikes Back, or a long shot is Flash Gordon.

Comedy - Caddyshack, but your choice of Airplane! is a good one.

I don't have any HQ pictures, but you might be able to get some from some like Bionic Bigfoot who is another person on this site.

Part of KlaSh-E's post:

The Eyes Of Laura Mars came out in 1978.

Even if it were made during the 80's, there has to be a far better example of an 80's thriller than that one! But I can't think of one right now. I'm having a brain fart at the moment!

Thriller: Fatal Attraction

Comedy: The Jerk/ Meatballs/ Caddyshack-is good..

Horror: Friday the 13th

Action: First Blood

Sci/Fi- Terminator

Drama: Places in the Heart

Adventure: Raiders... is a good one

You should do ones that more people are familiar with.

I bought a book off Ebay that has all kinds of pictures from the 80's.. I think it was by People Magazine, and it had a few pictures of Dynasty in it. Look on Ebay just under "Dynasty".

I just picked ones off the top of my head too.

cool cool

thx all so far... jep, eyes of laura mars is 1978... dunno why i thought it was 80's... (kinda looks 80's)

i'm not going for the 'big' films, but the ones that really showcase the 80's in big hair, overacting, bad taste in general... but don't get me wrong... I LOVE THE 80's!! think the best comedy and drama comes from that era...and horror ofcourse...)

I'm also doing a top 10 of BEST 80's movies.. so films like Raiders of the lost arc would be in that list...) your top 10 of the 80's is welcome!!!

it is an exciting article... but there's not much time.. [Frown]
it's for a magazine that asked me to write cd's reviews as a test as their writer moved on, and they liked it enough to ask me to do this special... i heard it last night and it has to be done tuesday morning... whieeeew... edit: got till fridaymorning now

ps: i'm from Holland, hense the not so great english...

Comedy: "This Is Spinal Tap" and "Trading Places"

Fantasy: "Field Of Dreams" and "The Little Mermaid"

Musical: "Talking Heads: Stop Making Sense" and "Krush Groove"

Romantic: "Crossing Delancey" and "Casual Sex?"

One question, Klash-E: Did you pick most of these movies by reading the website, or did you choose them beforehand?

Sincerely,

Wow there are so many to pick from that I must add another topic for you that is quite popular on here==Teen Comedy/Drama-either or.

Teen Comedy/Drama: Pretty In Pink, Sixteen Candles, The Goonies, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, The Legend of Billie Jean and Shag

Comedy: Clue, Fletch, Christmas Vacation, Tootsie and Neighbors

Drama: Terms of Endearment, The Color Purple, Stand By Me, Dirty Dancing

Sci/Fi--The Terminator, The Running Man, and Night of the Comet, Runaway

Action: I agree with ISIS here about First Blood-a real action flick that shows actual fighting that looks real, Cobra, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon

Thriller--Fatal Attraction, Lady Beware, Black Widow

Now several of these catgegories could overlap but some of the ones that I have mentioned are a little less popular than some of the obvious ones that we talk about a lot on here.

Hey, Klash-E, if you're from Holland, than why does it say Antwerp, Belgium in your profile?

BTW I'm from Antwerp as well and your English is ok. [Cool]

Good luck with your project. You came to the right place.

Oh, ok.. I see. Studying at the university I suppose?

About the Fast Times soundtrack…I don’t have it myself and don’t think you can still find it in our regions either. But if you own a credit card of some kind, you can order it rather cheap at Amazon.com.

Can’t help you out with HQ pics of Dynasty though. [Frown] Have you tried Yahoo image search yet?
