I know I've posted about this before but here's the deal. AMC played Weird Science like a month or two ago. So I decided to tape it. God, I haven't used a VHS tape in ages...haha [Smile] ! Anyways, I finally got around to watching it last night and I was like WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE!

The whole begining of the movie is different. There's like 5 minutes of footage I never saw before. Instead of seeing Gary shaving in Wyatt's sink after the opening credits, you see him and Wyatt in the kitchen watching old horror movies and making food. Gary puts like 5 pizzas in the microwave at once. The two of them are just standing there commenting on The Bride of Frankenstein. Then you see them sitting in Wyatt's tv room eating and watching the same movie and Gary asks Wyatt if he's ever seen Dawn of the Dead. Gary goes on to say it was really frightening and he had to talk to his grandmother for weeks just to calm him down. Wyatt's just sitting there like yeah...Wyatt then says, "this movie isn't even scary...it's mild, timid, camp like...campy I think is the word." I was just sitting there with my eyes hanging out of my head like this is nuts!!

I don't know, I just love stuff like this! I was so excited to see additional footage from a movie I have grown to love so much over the years. It was insane! So just tell me why they don't include this on the dvd? I mean, it is something John Hughes fans would appreciate beyond words.

Devolution here,

I think it's like sixteen candles, where there were certain scenes that were just made for TV, the same thing is true for many other movies. Billy Madison, and the kickball scene. Sixteen Candles and the Jake Ryan reading the note in the lunchroom.

Editing and time constraints, I wouldn't be surprised.

Yeah Devo, I know there were additional scenes to Fast Times At Ridgemont High. I am hoping one of the channels will air it again sometime soon so I can tape it. I have Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club and now Weird Science so I'm pretty stoked [Smile] ! Must get all additional footage! Hahaha

"Oh my god, it's Jake, I don't want him to know I eat."-Sammy Baker Davis Junior (extra scene)

The T.V. version for Fast Times,Sixteen Candles & Weird Science. Are the best versions to watch....Now if only you could get these same versions unedited on DVD....It just might make the world a better place [Big Grin] [Smile]

I wanna see the extra scenes in Goonies when Chunk and Sloth are talking in the caves, and when the Octopus attacks.

It couldn't be much stupider than the Octopus attack in Popeye... could it?
