Okay this one is definately a boring one in my book. Two lovers have a curse put on them where one is a wolf by night and the other is a Hawk by day. They never get to be together because of that. Maybe it is the peasantlike quality surrounding the film that makes it so dreary for me. This film starred Michelle Pfieffer--with ghastly short hair, Rutger Hauer, and Matthew Broderick--with an odd haircut as well. I don't even know if I have been able to sit through this one all of the way, if so it has been a really long time.

I can't say that I have any memories of this movie it was pretty forgetable for me. What about you guys?

I don't particularly like 'Ladyhawke' either Jess....

I can remember being really bored watching it as a child, as my aunt only watched those fantasy type movies - like 'Willow' (1988) and 'Legend' (1985) - which I'm not a great fan of either.

Oh, and what the 'eck is up with the music in this movie! It surprises me how it was even chosen for the final edit.

Actually, I like this movie. I think that Matthew Broderick has some excellent lines, and that it's real tough to hate anything that has both Rutger Hauer, and also Michelle Pfeiffer looking like she does here. The scenery is great, the plot is quirky but unique enough to stand out, and the supporting cast are really good.

Where the movie lets itself down for me is the soundtrack. I've commented before, but where in all that's holy about the movie industry does it say that 'lone horseman riding across barren landscape' equates to badly done 70s MOR backing track played on a dodgy synth?

Overall, 6.5 / 10, would be more but the music makes me reach for the mute button too often.

Devolution here,

This movie was the pits. I saw it when I was little, and I just remember the longest sword of all time it was a bit much for me.

I actually liked this one. Matthew Brodrick played a great character in this one. I liked all the sword fights and Rutger Hauer looked just bad to the bone in that black costume and crossbow. I liked the fanasy...I thought the curse thing was unique and added intrigue to the story. And I liked the way Brodrick was a mediator between the two characters and would give messages to each of them from the other and would sometimes twist the message to get the outcome he wanted.
To me this was a fun movie. I saw it at the movies and I own it on DVD. I think I will go watch it again tonight. After the Superbowl of corse!
