Okay today I was home sick and I got out my DVR and watched Private School that I recorded the other day. There are a slew of actors in this classic teenage romp like Phoebe Cates, Matthew Modine, Kathleen Wilhoite, Ray Walston, and many others. It follows a young couple's desire to consumate their relationship. Jim and Kris attend private schools nearby and are planning a big weekend together so they can "do it". It is also your classic tale of teen males who constantly chase after teen females. There is a lot of pranks and funny scenes that make this a really classic 80s teen film.

What are your thoughts on this 1983 comedy romp fest?

Oh I can't believe I forgot to mention the music in this film. Phoebe Cates sings two songs on this soundtrack, I can't believe they don't have that listed on her credits on imdb.com. Also some 80s favs are in there like Nasty Girl and I Want Candy.

I am also reminded of the 80s workout scene when I see the girls warming up doing the little dance at the beginning while they are in gym class. It is pretty funny. The really short shorts, striped leotards, leg warmers, deep v-neck bathing suits. Do you guys remember that from the movie?

C.T.- You have to watch Private School.

We have talked about it on here before. It is one of my favorites. I love everything about this movie, I love the cast and the music.

It is one I never get sick of either.

I pre ordered the DVD from Amazon.com. I hope it has some good special features, it would be awesome if they could get that whole cast together for a reunion, that would be the coolest thing.

JLP, you finally came up with one that I actually saw and have seen it a billion times. WAY to GO!

Well you need to see this one mamamia!!! Isn't it weird at some of these that get talked about on here that we haven't seen. I still haven't seen Scarface, The Wizard, Little Monsters or Purple Rain. I plan to but the timing just has to be right sometime. Private School is definately one to add to the teenage favs category. I hope that you get to check it out sometime.

Well everyone knows I love this movie. One of the hidden gems from the 80's. Of course, here almost everyone remembers it, but in the outside world, don't try to start a conversation asking your boss if he liked the movie "Private School". [Razz]

Or even worse is to tell a room full of friends your favorite movie is "Valley Girl"....(silence).....ha, I was jokin'...it's "Terminator" you Goofs! ARNOLD is bad in that movie! [Embarrassed]

That's funny about the movies you can discuss with "the outside world". When I worked in an office the computers broke down one day and we were all sitting around talking and somehow the movie LOVERBOY came up. (My superviser fought me the movie was called PIZZA BOY...but I knew better, dammit!) Well it seems everyone from the lowliest scrub to the highest boss had seen LOVERBOY (they even remembered that "double anchovies" meant you wanted a gigilo sent to your house.) We all sat around laughing and I said "Now...you wanna see something SAD...we all saw LOVERBOY....how many of us saw SCHINDLERS LIST?" NOBODY had!!!!! And yet we all had sat through LOVERBOY at least one time each!!!!
