I was looking on the Movies Smart Menu on the home page and I see that this movie is not listed as a movie from the 80s! What is the deal with that?? Surely more people are aware of this horror classic from 1989.

Anyway---I will make it my second movie of the day today. It stars one of my favorite actors---sexy wise--Dale Midkiff. He plays a doctor that moves to a small town with his family and discovers an old indian burial ground in his backyard. Fred Gwynne co-stars as the old man who lives across the street that tells him about all of the weird things that have happened with people who have used the burial ground. He doesn't listen however and ends up putting his son and wife in there...what a mess! Very good visual effects for this film. I will never be able to hear the name Zelda again and not think of the character in this film. It was actually a man who played Rachel's sister. Scary!! Miko Hughes played Gage their son who got run over by a semi and then brought back to life and became a killer baby!! He was very good in that role.

What were your fond memories of this film?

I watched this when I was six and I've never had the guts to rent it again since. I don't scare easily (now) but this movie scarred me as a kid, fer sure.

The cover art is still really grisly for me.

It surprised me to learn Mary Lambert was the director; I'd liked her work in Siesta and Madonna's "Material Girl," "La Isla Bonita" and "Like a Prayer" videos.

Who could forget "Herman Munster" in this film? That little boy was so cute. He had the cutest voice. I don't think that they could have picked a better kid to play this role. It was too creepy when he came back from the dead. [Eek!]

The scene that sticks in my mind is when the kid slices Herman Munster's heel! Ouch!!!!!
I thought the movie was pretty spooky.
