When I first saw the film when It first came out and I was a kid I did start Tae Kwon Do but I lost interst then I took up Wado Ryu and I liked that but the club closed down The I did try and carry on with my Wado Ryu a couple of years ago but the closest decent club with a good reputation was 30 miles away and it just got too much trying to travel that far. I would still like to do it though but there isn't anywhere to go round where I live not for Wado Ryu anyway.

im 2nd deg black in shotokan, and have also been doing full contact kickboxing/muay thai past 4 yrs. inspired by the movie. not so much. somewhat though, I think it was all the van damme movies as a child that inspired me to do martial arts.

I also actually went for a job a few months ago as a Karate instructer it said you didn't need any previous experience as they would train you up to black belt level. The only problem was it was for GKR Karate so once you got your black belt abd instucter certificate you wouldn't be able to start up your own club as it wasn't like learning wado ryu or another style it was just a style some guy had called his own. And while you were training for your black belt you had to go door to door to get people to sign up to this GKR Karate and the more people that you got to sign up the more money you earned it was a commission thing.

I would love to get my black belt one day though its just finding the time now, I have two little kids so when there older they might want to do it and I could do it with them maybe.

I would also love to have my own club but I would want it like the Cobra Kai, I love there way, Strike First, Strike Hard, No Mercy. In my opinion whats the point in learning how to fight just for defense reasons. Its good to know you can kick someones ar5e if there asking for it.

Plus the club I started going to a few year ago had like well over 100 students and they had to do there training in a big sports hall and main training was twice a week at £3.50 a session I think. The guy that owned it must have been earning some cash. He also had a dojo and shop where they used to do some smaller sized classes.

I practice the art of Goju Ryu. It is the style which Mr. Miyagi's Karate is based on in The Karate Kid movies. Even Mr. Miyagi himself is based off Chojun Miyagi Sensei, the master that gave our style the name Goju Ryu. Alot of the moves are similar, the blocking from the first one, the drum technique from the second, and the kata Mr. Miyagi teaches to Daniel-san in the third is very similar to the Saiyunchin kata we do. The Crane Technique however i have never seen.
