This is very much a guilty pleasure of mine, one that I think should have lasted much longer than 13 episodes (reportedly the special effects budget was simply too high). While admittedly it's in the same vein of utter absurdity that includes most notably Knight Rider and the not-quite-as-bad-as-it's-usually-made-out-as Manimal, it still comes off believable considering this. The effects are quite good for their time, the writing is fairly good with a nice mix of humor and action, and the cast works quite well with Dezi Arnaz, Jr. making quite a likeable protagonist (and there's certainly no denying Heather McNair was extremely attractive back in the day). Perhaps this is one show where a revival couldn't hurt.

Automan always reminded me of Tron.
