Hey guys..

i was wondering.. do y'all also have music dvds (or blu-rays) in your collections besides movies and tv series..
and if so, which ones do you own, and what are your favourites ?

For starters, here's a selection of my own The Who and Rory Gallagher collections on dvd :

- The Who - Live At The Isle Of Wight 1970 (which has been one of the most often played dvds here for many years)

 -

- The Who - Live At Kilburn 1977

- The Who - The Kids Are Alright (documentary, 1979)

- The Who - Amazing Journey ; The Story Of The Who (documentary, 2007)

- The Who - Maximum R&B Live (archival live material compilation)

- The Who - Live In Texas 1975

- The Who - Tommy (1989) / Quadrophenia (1996 / 1997)

- The Who - Live At The Royal Albert Hall 2000

- The Who - Live In Boston 2002

- The Who - Quadrophenia Live In London 2013

- Rory Gallagher - Irish Tour '74

- Rory Gallagher - Definitive Montreux Collection (awesome, awesome release)

 -

- Rory Gallagher - Ghost Blues (documentary) / Beat Club Sessions 1971 / 1972

- Rory Gallagher - Rockpalast Collection (3 dvd set, over 10 hours!!)

- Rory Gallagher - Live In Cork 1987

More to follow...

Please feel free to add your own favourites. [Wink]

I used to have a ton on VHS but never really got any on DVD except Depeche Mode The Videos.

Some of my VHS ones were:
Hey Lewis and the News
Billy Joel Live
Billy Joel music videos 1 & 2
The Police 3 or 4 different ones
Depeche Mode around 6 different ones
Queen probably 3 or 4 different ones
Duran Duran 4 different ones
And a bunch more

Iron Maiden: Visions Of The Beast

 -

One I got again recently. All their video's plus animated video's of songs, it's a great double disc D.V.D. if you're a fan of the band.

I got this today with the mail :

 -

Brand new to dvd, Taste's live performance at the 1970 Isle Of Wight festival,
only weeks before they split up and Rory Gallagher started his solo career.

They released this on multiple formats (cd, dvd, blu-ray, and double-vinyl).
I wish they'd made it a dvd + cd combopack though, instead of releasing all formats individually.

Check it out : www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOo_Zi1W2iE

Good stuff ! [Cool]

Love music DVD's,

Most recent purchase was

Nightwish - Showtime, Story Time (Live at Wacken)

It is amazing and Floor is a much better singer than Tarja imho.

Check out the trailer : www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPIwdlnoKyA

(* although several songs turned up on the 1974 double-vinyl album Roxy & Elsewehere)

I have a psychology lecturer that looks like Eddie from Iron Maiden - of course I wouldn't tell her that [Big Grin] I am confident that many maiden fans initially got lured in because of the fantastic artwork.

Seems like someone is definitely into punk music here ! [Razz]

Interesting batch of titles you mentioned, Xchazx.

I've only seen The Decline Of Western Civilization 1 & 2 (although the second one was more about metal rather than punk).

That Bauhaus dvd seems to be getting some raving reviews on Amazon. Looks good !

Arrived today :

 -

The Jimi Hendrix Experience live at the Atlanta Pop Festival, july 4th 1970

This festival footage was filmed by Steve Rash, who went on to direct Can't Buy Me Love (1987) amongst others.

Even though Jimi would be dead within 10 weeks after this show, this isn't the last of his performances captured on film.
The Isle Of Wight gig (released on dvd as Blue Wild Angel) was recorded on august 30th 1970.

Jimi passed away only three weeks later, on the 18th of september.

The Complete Jam On Film '77 - '82 came out over a decade ago, while About The Young Idea came out just last week.

About The Young Idea is a feature-length documentary, which also includes a second disc with a full 1980 concert
from Germany's Rockpalast archives. A CD version of the concert is included as well !

I have two more DVDs of The Jam, but they were included in the "Super Deluxe" editions of their Setting Sons
and The Gift albums. These discs were never released seperately.

Lovely new box-set contains 4 dvds (one documentary and three complete concerts) plus 1 cd.
The Deluxe edition is packaged in a very nice 60 page hardcover book. Video-quality is limited
to the way the concerts were shot back in '95, but the sound-quality is top-notch !

Totally Stripped is a great addition to last year's 'From The Vault' series, and is available
on multiple formats, including blu-ray, dvd, cd, vinyl, and various combinations.
