How about Doctor Barbie and Teacher Barbie? When the first round of Teacher Barbies came out, she had no underpants. Parents went into an uproar, so the second round manufactured had white underwear. Why were they looking up the teacher's dress anyway? I also have a Springtime Barbie, with a blue floral dress. And all of the Christmas Barbies were beautiful. I also have a Cinderella doll that is like a Barbie with a beautiful wedding type gown.

Does anyone rememebr the Happy To Be Me doll? it was the anti-Barbie and it came out in the '90s. It was a Plain Jane doll (I think she had brown hair and green eyes) and she was built more like a "real woman" and had flat feet, unl;ike Barbies warped feet. It was good idea, but seeing that they dont make 'em anymore I guess it never took off. (THE SIMPSONS actually had an episode based on it).

When I first went on the internet and discovered eBay I was going crazy trying to get JEM dolls, but people always outbid me. I always dug the JEM dolls more than the BARBIE AND THE ROCKERS dolls.

Some other dolls that were sorta weirdly themed:

A Barbie that tanned when you left it in the sun

A Barbie you could pierce

A Barbie you could tattoo

A Ken you could shave

Pregnant Midge with baby in utero (my daughter had this one)

* And an online search says Barbies black friends name was Christie.

I totally forgot about how they had to fix up the boxes and the commercials to let us know Midge was indeed married to her Baby Daddy!
I had him and the grandparent dolls to...or rather my daughter did.
I think Midge even had a wedding band on.

The funny thing is the inconsistincies with Barbie and her friends ages. Are they teenagers? Or are they 20-somethings? Because one minute their dressed for the sock hop and the next they are pregnant or running for president!
