I must give Earth Angel credit for this thread, but I thought it might be cool to mention some of the movies, music, or 80's references that makes us think of each other:

Ronnie - "Valley Girl", "Fire With Fire", "Modern Girls", "Aliens", and "Streets of Fire". You are forever 80's fiesty in my mind NowhereGirl. [Wink]

Riptide - "Tuff Turf", "Just One of the Guys", and that kicktassh jacket I made you once when you were crushing on that new girl. Too much info I know, but that is what makes this site so great...I know things that I shouldn't know!

Cindy Mancini - so obvious, but definitely "Can't Buy Me Love" and how about "Modern Girls". Oh and "Making the Grade". You are the ultimate 80's movie soundtrack maestro in my opinion. One of my first friends on this site and I want to thank you for taking me under your wing. Let's go shopping at The Galleria soon.

Muffy - another person that makes me think of "Valley Girl" and of course "DMC". I'll try not to mention this again for awhile....but Gremlins should never be eaten for breakfast. [Razz]

Ali_with_an_i - Actually, I'm thinking "The Goonies" first even though your name totally reminds of "The Karate Kid". But in reality everytime I see Bruce Campbell I'm looking for you stalking him...I mean walking by him. [Big Grin]

Earth Angel - I mentioned this before, but you make me think of "Back to the Future" and then "Pretty in Pink" because of your on and off again flirtation with one Duckie Dale Winton. Do you still have those boots from "Footloose"?

80'sRocked - the guy with the 80's list from heaven, you are much appreciated by me because you never leave me hanging on a movie posting. Oh and that little poetry on Lupa's thread was a classic. Okay it was really just a funny story, but you get an 'O'Captain, My Captain' for its clever truths.

deathbystereo80 - I can't watch "The Lost Boys" without you or skydive for some reason. Got to be the pic.

Eddie Wilson - another obvious choice of "Eddie and the Cruisers", but I'll always remember you telling me about that crush you had on a girl in high school and how it played out like an awesome 80's flick. And your movie location adventures makes us kindred 80's spirits.

Lupa - I put you right under Eddie, because I always think about how much both of you love "Little Monsters". And your incredible tribute site to the movie is a must see.....I'd love to make one that tripendicular for "Valley Girl" someday.

Jessie - I'm thinking of all the addictive threads that you have created throughout the years. But I totally miss your 'JLP's Movie of the Week' thread....which links you with the movie "Fire with Fire" for me. Lotto or Jake Ryan?

Kash - You are the ultimate wingman my friend! Thanks for all your insight over the years. Top Gun and Dreams!

Paul - Can you say "Pretty in Pink"....can't help it ....I actually think of "Some Kind of Wonderful" and then you beating me over the head with a set of drum sticks for mentioning Duckie and Watts are now an item. And you telling Watts "You look good wearing my future".

Nick - You are my Rewind Mr. Miyagi! Your awesome site has truly given my life balance.

Devo - you are the Rewind watchdog and how can I not think of "Hamburger: The Motion Picture" and that awesome story about your family. But let's not forget our love for racing to answer "Career Opportunities".

Sam - not an 80's movie, but "Dazed and Confused" and Bob Dylan's "Hurricane". "You are a Rewind legend"...of course that is just a quote I stole from you while you were looking into your bedroom mirror. [Cool]

TKO - lost but never forgotten...you are "The Sure Thing" when it comes to knowledge with regard to dance movies.

mamamiasweetpeaches - "Sixteen Candles" and how we are always so close in number of overall postings. Thanks for the recent vacation!

pettyfan - I always think of the "Halloween Scary Movie Thread"....I might of started it, but you totally owned it with all your horror movie knowledge.

EJ Loves Takashi - "Revenge of the Nerds", not because you are one, but because you seem to have a soft spot for us Rewind geeks. And for your playful movie quotes....well except for that time you called me 'numb nuts'. Still love the screen name! [Cool]

Stitch Groover - Maybe "Fright Night", but I seldom see you my 80's movie world. So I'll go with my Aussie "BMX Bandits" as another choice.

There'll be no morning for us - Another horror guru who makes me think of the quirky "Cutting Class" since you gave it a shot after my thread. Even better "Just One of the Guys"...I envy you getting to watch it for the first time recently.

Noms - Totally "Trick or Treat"...of course more trick than treat for me, but I can handle a little Metallica "One" on Halloween. Oh and do you like the movie "The Wraith"?...for some reason that comes to my mind as well. [Wink]

MotleyRulz - I can so see you practicing the Triple Lindy while listening to Motley Crue's "Wild Side".

PittsburghGirl - I don't know you that well, but didn't you tell a cool story about "All The Right Moves" and how you knew some extras? Maybe not, but could be cool.

Rainbowbrite22 - Teen Witch and so many GemGlamGirl movies that I can't remember them all.

TNUC - You have forever embedded "Teen Wolf" in my mind because of your ridculiously authentic Teen Wolf Halloween costume. "Give me a keg of beer....and these." New Bev anytime!

buffalo-girl - 80's music and concerts seem to be your passion. You seldom sneak into the 80's movie section, but when you do it's usually about something way obscure which is cool.

JCWBobC - You are totally "RAD" to me and not only becuase of the fact you found the soundtrack in your mom's attic..but that so helped!

StevenHW - your movie is on the tip of my tongue....something about a girl traveling through a mirror...I'm going to go watch "The Hugga Bunch" and see if I can think of it.

jdocster - Let's see...Darth Vader, the planet Vulcan, and the Enchantment Under the Sea dance. That's heavy. You're the 'cat's meow'.

Chris the CandyFanMan - John Candy and Steve Martin.

TresFoxy - I always think of the Karate Kid I and II because of the story you told me once about watching it on a tape as kid and they recorded the two movies together somehow. How's Minnesota or was it Michigan?

aTomiK - You are so impressive in the fact that you watch movies that I won't even dare to try to find again. Great stuff!

logan5 - Encyclopedia of movie names...enuff said. Right Sandman?

kevdugp73 - please remind the Muffster not to feed Gizmo after midnight and definitely not to eat gremlins for breakfast. Thanks in advance.

xchazx - "Just One of the Guys" and hockey...makes sense to me.

Mane1980 - You pop in from time to time to give us sequel updates and then you disappear for awhile to watch your fav movie. Don't you forget about me.

annier - "St. Elmo's Fire" and all the last movie I watched threads.

bandit - "The Last Starfighter", your touching story about your dog, and the fact you got to first base with Earth Angel. Flux Capcitator?

JAY LEE - "Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Aloha Summer".

SHOGUN - The miniseries and probably "Purple Rain". The real question is: will you be back to read this in two years?

saturnchick - Another BTTF fan that finds a way to intertwine "The Goonies' at times.

J2ME - For music I've never heard of, but hopefully I can still dance to.

Pyromantic - Don't know much except that you like to sleep all day and party all night. btw, that wasn't wine.

RiverPhoenix4life - Beyond lost...you'll always make me think of "Stand By Me" and I so hope your life is spectacular these days!

Bridgette Marie - I never knew ya, but thanks for your contributions.

Well, it is envitable that I left some of my friends out of this thread, if so, I do apologize because what started as a little fun has developed into an 80's late night ramble. So please help me by sharing your thoughts on each other as well.

Valley - "Valley Girl", "RAD", and "April Fool's Day". Obviously there are many others, but these are the top three that instantly remind us all of you....not to mention your vast knowledge of 80's movies which is quite impressive. Too bad you don't write reviews for The Rewind because your "usual ramblings" blow most reviews out of the water. It's no wonder that you are the "Godfather" of the 80's Movies Forum and receive the awesome respect that you deserve. I have learned much from your posts and recommendations. It's been a pleasure. Thanks Valley - would you believe I've never seen BMX Bandit? But I did own a BMX around that time. Fright Night is one of my favorite films though.

Valley-that was a cool posting...I never know how you remember such detail about every person, I think that's amazing.

Of Course I feel like "Valley Girl" is our movie, so I'll never watch it ever again for the rest of my life without thinking of you....and I also think of you when it comes to "Risky Business". [Wink]

I think of Cindymancini when I watch any movie that she and I watched together, which has been quite a few....but definately Sixteen Candles and Little Darlings are my 2 tops that I think of her, and oh how could I forget- Friday the 13th part 1.

I do have to credit Ronnie for Fire with Fire because I never had even heard of that movie, until she told me about it, but now I am also always going to connect it to 80sRocked.

I think the coolest thing about the Rewind and being on here, is the connection that we share because of a movie, and how powerful that can be.

Hell of a thread Valley, really great summarizing all that. I forgot about that newbie girl poster and the jacket. Laughed a lot reminding myself of that. Funny enough I just watched Just one of the Guys on the weekend and it still holds up as one of my favorites of the 80's, and Tuff Turf is brilliant, although I'm probably the only loon that would say that. Beautiful post, Valley: one of the best ever.

Naturally, Valley Girl reminds me of...Valleycat [Smile] [Wink] [Razz] only saw it this year and will forever associate it with my good friend. Same goes for Top Gun and any new Cruise movie for that matter (still a few of us Cruise fans out there!)

Valley, my friend's sister was an extra in the movie All the Right Moves. I think she was paid around $60 per day. She was in the bleachers at the game. They filmed for 3 days and it was miserable. I was too young, along with most of my friends; they wouldn't hire anyone younger than 16 or 17. Those who did get to be extras got out of school- yay for them, ha,ha! I knew some of the football players too, even though none of them went to my school. One of my friends used to go out with one of the guys in the locker room scene (Walnut Heights team). When they filmed the part where Coach Nickerson's house gets trashed, my friends lived very close-by, so they hung around and got autographs from Tom Cruise and watched the filming. Lea Thompson went to my boyfriend's school for 3 days as a "new student" (Ferndale High School). But he knew she was fromt he movie because she had such heavy makeup on. He said he didn't find her all that attractive either, but I think he liked his blonde better [Wink] . Someday I'll get some pics up here for you all, like Eddie Wilson did with the scenes from Dazed and Confused.

I remember seeing posters, trailers and hearing great things about the Wraith and I was desperate to see it but as it had an 18 rating and I was still young at the time it took a while for me to see.

Needless to say I was extremely disappointed in it!!

You got me on the Trick or Treat thing though, although for a long time it was totally "Big Trouble in Little China" and "Aliens" for this 80's Nomster.

Dee, the movie "Sphere" was so promising and contained elements that even though it doesn't totally deliver, it is still worth watching. The cast is stellar with Hoffman, Stone, and Jackson. I don't want to give too much away, so watch it and let us know what you think.
