It was on a long stretch of lawn below a retiement community and I think the Kiwanis sponsored it. Anyhoo, in all of those years that I went to it, I only found ONE smashed hard boiled egg! What happened was, the parents of other children would either get there super early and point out where the prize eggs were, or they would literally just hunt for them before it was opened up to the public! I remember seeing parents there with infants who couldn't even walk-they were supposed to have them in a seperate egg hunt for the tiny tots, but they were greedy. So sad, things haven't changed since the 1970's.
