What are your plans this year for Easter? Do you have family traditions?

What did you do as a kid?

I remember we always got a new Easter outfit and new shoes, and went to church.

We got up first thing in the morning and looked for our Easter Baskets.

Did you ever find your Easter Basket in a really weird place?

We always went to both sets of my grandparents homes.

The one set of grandparents- we ate Easter Dinner, and we had an egg hunt- usually outside-if the weather was nice.

We went to the other set of grandparents in the evening.

I remember one of my grandmas made Easter bread-it was really good, I remember it had a ton of eggs in it, I think it had raisins in it too, and she would put colored Easter eggs inside the bread- after it was baked, she twisted it in to a braided wreath- it looked like a nest.

We always colored Easter Eggs the night before, we always did the vinegar and food coloring, and we drew on the eggs with crayons, and wrote our names on them.

I am making the dessert that my grandma always made. It's an apricot jello salad with a cream cheese topping, it has pineapple and bananas in it- it is yummy.

My one grandma always made homemade chicken noodle soup-she made her own homemade noodles- it was the best stuff on the planet.

We usually make a Ham and scalloped potatoes and cole slaw and rolls, and deviled eggs and a veggie platter and a dessert.

I love the holidays.

The important part of Easter for me isn't Easter itself, it's Good Friday. Over here we have the Good Friday Appeal, which raises money for the Children's Hospital.
Since I was 5 years old, I've been involved, firstly through my dad and now running it myself. All of Good Friday is spent collecting donations from passing cars, and door knocking the entire town.

I can't imagine an Easter without it.
