We are sitting here tonight trying to sort out my sister's mp3 collection, and we are listening to a lot of 80's songs.

She has a lot of compilation albums of Ozzie music, with songs from local legends and one hit wonders.

Has anyone heard of these artists -

Wa Wa Nee
Noiseworks
Choirboys
John Farnham
Divynals
Cold Chisel
Jimmy Barnes
Uncanny Xmen
Kids in the kitchen

Are there any artists that you guys know from the 80's/90's?

I´ve heard some Jimmy Barnes albums.
Especially Freight Train Heart (1987) is a good disc.

 -

and John Farnham of course.

Others:

Rick Springfield - a legend!

Rick Price´s Heaven Knows (´92) album had some good stuff.

 -

I remember also Pseudo Echo.

And last but not least AC/DC and newcomers Airbourne, their debut album is a classic!

I only recognise John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes off that list.

INXS, Crowded House(Kiwi?), AC/DC are the most famous Australian bands I know

Australian bands don't seem to make much of a dent over here.

Kylie is the most famous Aussie singer -- the least said about that the better... [Big Grin]

I recognise some of thos names from list Stitch.

Divinyls-much more than "I touch myself." Would love to see their debut album get reissued. Stuff like Ring me Up Boys in town. They could really rock.

An embarassment of riches concerning 80's aussie music

The Fixx
Real Life
The Birthday Party-Nick Cave's first band.
Inxs
Midnight Oil
The Chills
The Pin Group
Split Enz-they might be from New Zealand actually.
The Church-are they Aussie? Always thought they were.
Icehouse

I always remembered John Farnham's your the voice song.
