Full list has yet to be published (aka copied and pasted) as I type this, but please use this thread for all discussions regarding this year's awards.

One comment I did see that made me chuckle, regarding the nomination of HUGO 3D for eleven awards, is this: "The problem with Hugo being in 3D is that there is now a 2-dimensional difference between Jude Law's acting ability and what you seen on screen."

Nice to see Chico & Rita nominated.

While Melissa McCarthy was good, that supporting actress nomination should soooo be Rose Byrne in my mind.

Bad: the snub of "Drive," especially Albert Brooks for Best Supporting Actor. And while I appreciated Rooney Mara's good performance in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," I think that the Academy confused getting piercings and being "courageous" and uninhibited with worthy of a nomination. Best surprise was that at long last, Gary Oldman, a brilliant actor and treasure for decades, gets his due. And at least Stephen Zaillian got nominated for screenplay adaptation for "Money Ball" and not for "Dragon Tattoo," where he essentially watched the Swedish film a bunch of times and cribbed dialogue from it.

I see that Chico & Rita is available to stream. Is it that good? I hadn't even heard of it!

Regarding "Moneyball"... I liked it, and thought Brad Pitt was great, but I was surprised to see Jonah Hill get nominated for his role?
It's probably because I saw 'The Sitter" in theaters recently, and it's hard to believe the same guy was in Moneyball ha!

And for some strange reason, I am looking forward to the new "21 Jump Street" with Jonah as well! [Big Grin]

Make the effort! [Razz] I'm watching the annoying AP hosts talking about the weather. Well there's Penelope Ann Miller being harassed by videorazzi...

I haven't seen the film Veronica, but Berlingers a big name in documentaries, will have to look out for it.

What are all your predictions for the big five?

AP hosts are talking breeze to fill the time, I stopped listening about ten minutes ago. Alicia looks good, though.
