Many years ago I had a copy of Tiffany's "Hold an Old Friend's Hand" LP on cassette for my car and wondered why a teen-beat singer would try to sing like a truck-stop pall-mall pounding sea captain. Well inspiration struck tonight... and I am here to share the guess... She was trying to emulate... or emulAPE! Stevie Nicks. Hold an Old Friend's Hand Video What producer in their right mind would encourage that? Perhaps the Backstreet Boys would have faired better if they had "emulAPED" Neil Young? Who is the audience? So, I'm curious what other strange, intentional or not, copying you've stumbled across in the wonderland of the 80's and early 90's. Please drop that bomb! -BCR

I listened to that video and you're right, Tiffany does have a resemblance to Stevie. I never noticed it before.
I can't think of any others than the few Depeche Mode soundalikes such as: Camouflage Red Flag Cause & Effect ^^^ all good bands though, so I'm not complaining.
