That was just on VH-1 Classics.. Mark Goodman hosted it. I miss the original MTV and the VJ's.

Rikki Rachtmann wasn't an original VJ. The original 5 MTV VJ's were

Nina Blackwood
Mark Goodman
Alan Hunter
JJ Jackson

interesting list, it could probably be argued that AC/DC and Led Zeppelin aren't metal, maybe they influenced it a lot, but Led Zep had all kinds of influences. AC/DC is more straight up rock'n roll to me.

1. Black Sabbath
2. Metallica
3. Iron Maiden
4. Judas Priest
5. Slayer
6. Pantera
7. Motley Crue
8. Megadeth
9. Motorhead
10.Scorpions

I classify Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, and other softer Heavy Metal bands as "Metal", "Hair Metal", or "Arena Rock". To me, it's close enough and qualifies.

I'd call the early stuff heavy metal combined with a little industrial metal. There seems to be a big rivalry between Mushroomhead and Slipknot fans as one side says the other came along first. Mushroomhead actually did the mask image before Slipknot. I actually prefer Slipknot more because they're heavier. Mushroomhead got a new singer in 2004. I prefer their older stuff (their 1995 debut entitled "Mushroomhead.") I'd also recommend their 1999 album "M3." They seemed to have mellowed out some since this new lead singer and not even all of them wear masks now (some facepaint).
