Just wanted to tell you guys that on Saturday my boyfriend and I went to New Jersey for the Chiller Theater Expo and Jane Wiedlin of the Go Go's was there! I got to talk with her for a few minutes and I had her sign my Beauty and the Beat vinyl. She was impressed that I had it on record. She said she also coudn't believe it is the 25th anniversary of the album itself. I asked if the Go Go's would be doing any East Coast tour dates and she said yes in June! She was really sweet but you could tell she has been doing this for alot of years and isn't phased by anything anymore. She looked beautiful and not her age at all. She is extremely tiny and her voice is adorable. It was just a total trip to be standing next to the person who's music I have listened to for all these years. I thought this is the person who sings "Rush Hour," which is one of my favorite songs of all time! It was just awesome. Here's the two things she signed for me.

I also met Chris Knight from the Brady Bunch. I'll post about that in the 70's Forum and saw C. Thomas Howell and Deborah Van Valkenburgh from Streets of Fire and Too Close for Comfort. I'll post about them in the 80's Movie forum.

Wow, that's awesome, l always loved Jane Wiedlin, even as her playing Joan of Arc in the first Bill and Ted movie. That's so cool you got to meet her, the last I saw of her she was on the surreal life with Da Brat and Chyna. Real nice looking autograph too. What a classic 80's album.

That is an awesome picture...I always thought Belinda Carlisle was beautiful, and Jane was so cute...and I love the song Rush Hour....I love how they use it in the movie Liscense to Drive...at the party...where they are talking about what car each girl would lose their virginity in, that was a perfect back ground party song!!

Hey Jessie,

You know my friend Greg loves Clue and he made me watch it once but I just couldn't get into it. I should give it another shot. The thing is, I don't even remember Jane being in it! I think that was more of the reason she was at Chiller Theater for her work in some cult classic movies.

Thanks Riptide! I get pretty excited when I look at it too! I think I want to frame it or something and put it in my 80's room in my new house. It would look so cool. Now if I can just get the rest of them to sign it...

Isis, I was thinking the same thing about License to Drive. I love that scene and the song is perfect for the movie with the whole driving theme. Come to think of it, the Go Go's seem to have a thing for writing songs and incorporating cars and driving in them. Here's what I mean:

Speeding-From the Fast Times soundtrack
Skidmarks on My Heart-Beauty and the Beat
Automatic-Beauty and the Beat
Stuck In My Car-God Bless The Go Go's
Rush Hour-Fur

cindi, that is so awesome! I would have loved to have met her. My best friend and I used to play that album all the time in her family room when we were kids and dance around like maniacs! How was Chris Knight? They were on the Surreal Life together last year. I would have peed in my pants if I saw C. Thomas Howell. Has he gained any weight back- I heard he was fairly ill for a while with some sort of intestinal problem and that was why he had lost so much weight. Let's hope his career gets back on track. Did Jane let you take any pics with her?

Hey eightieschick,

Chris Knight was so nice and Adrianne was really sweet. I was telling Isis and I don't think she wanted to believe me but I can't lie. The two of them looked truly happy together and they were so receptive to the fans and humble. I was totally impressed. They both also looked gorgeous. He has not aged. He has gotten better looking with time. I'm so glad I got to meet them!

I did see C. Thomas and he looked very thin and old. I hate to say that cause I'm not trying to put him down or anything. I mean hey, life can be tough at times and it takes it's toll on ya. I can definitely relate but I thought he looked like he could put on a few pounds and also get some more color in his face. He was very pale. He had on black fade jeans and cowboy boots. I mean, it was awesome to see him and he seemed to be pretty nice to the people who were talking to him. I didn't approach his table cause I just didn't know what to say and it was starting to get expensive. Here's a pic I took nonchalantly...

That picture doesn't look as bad as what he looked like on the new Outsiders DVD.

He does look a little skinny, even with the vest on. That would be sad if he was really sick.

I just know watching the Outsiders, he seemed kind of bitter about how his acting career turned out...and was kind of acting like a jerk to Francis Ford Coppola.

Didn't he have to have some sort of intestine surgery that's made him thin? I thought I had heard that somewhere...

Thanks for the pic cindimancini! C. Thomas Howell still looks the same as a few years ago. The last thing I saw him on was a tv show called Summerland with the girl who used to be on Full House. He looked really thin in that show. He played an alcoholic father. It was just one or two episodes, though, and I was shocked at how old he looked. Having a serious health problem really takes it out of you. I didn't think he acted like a jerk toward Coppola in the Outsiders special edition. He just was stating the way that it is- for some reason his career never took off, while the rest of the guys have gone on to superstardom.

Eightieschick, I saw those Summerland episodes as well. I thought C. Thomas Howell looked sick. When he did a scene with Lori Loughlin it was almost too hard to watch. All I could keep thinking about their awesome chemistry in "Secret Admirer". I thought he looked better on "The Outsiders" DVD.

Cindy, getting to hangout with all your old roadie crowd from back in your Marky Mark days must bring back some memories. So what year did The Go Gos tour with The Funky Bunch? Do you call him Calvin...Klein like in Back To The Future? [Wink]

Great stuff! [Big Grin]
