It might not be as good as the best selling V.C. Andrews book it's based off of. But I still think this movie is pretty good.

Amazonia: The Catherine Miles Story (1985) aka White Slave.

"An 18 year old Catherine Miles graduates from her boarding school and takes a trip
with her parents to the Amazon. While on a boat ride, her parents are brutally murdered by a local cannibal tribe
and she is taken prisoner. In order to survive, she adopts the customs of the tribe with the help of a warrior
who has fallen in love with her, all the while planning vengeance for her parents' death.
He later helps her to escape, and now free, she goes to find who exactly was behind the death of her parents." (IMDb)

This was a decent Italian exploitation movie directed by Mario Gariazzo.
Starring Elvire Audray and Will Gonzales.

They say that it´s based on a true story but of course it´s not.

This reminded me of the great Umberto Lenzi cannibal flick The Man from Deep River (1972)
but this movie doesn´t include cannibalism.

See bad acting, few shocking images, lots of nudity and cool jungle tribes and their funny habits [Smile]

Yellowbeard (1983)

"Yellowbeard, a pirate's pirate, is allowed to escape from prison to lead the authorities to his treasure.
He finds that his wife neglected to tell him that he now has a son, 20, and shame of shame, an intellectual.
The British Navy, Yellowbeard, his son, and members of Yellowbeard's old crew all go after the treasure. (IMDb)

While this is not one of my favorite comedies, it´s still fun stuff.
The movie was directed by Mel Damski and includes an unbelievable cast:

Monty Python men Graham Chapman, Eric Idle and John Cleese. Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong.
Marty Feldman in his last role. Martin Hewitt (Endless Love, Out of Control).
Peter Boyle, Peter Cook, Michael Hordern, James Mason.
Nigel "The Young Ones" Planer in his first feature film. Lovely ladies Madeline Khan, Stacey Nelkin and Susannah York.
And even David Bowie visits one of the ships as the Shark [Smile]

i've watched quite a few lately -

 -

i watched omen 3 the final conflict (1981) starring sam neill on blu ray,not watched this for many years and even though in my oppinion it's a much weaker entry in the series than the previous 2 installments there's still plenty to enjoy.

 -
lightning storm courtesy of zx spectrum

one thing i did find was the effects work here was pretty hit and miss, the suicide scene at the begining where the ambassador blows his head off looked rather convincing but then minutes later you have a lightning storm that looked like it had been put together on a zx spectrum.

 -
sam neill must of had to carry one big doggy poop bag!

another thing was how botched the ending felt,it's as if the makers didn't have a clue how to wrap it all up,it just ended way to abruptly.

 -
ruby wax

on the plus side sam neill as the grown up damian was very good and some of the murders were suitably grisly, also i never realised before that ruby wax has a small role as the secretary to the american ambassador.

so overall it might have its faults but it's still a pretty decent watch. 7.5/10

the blu ray wasn't none to shoddy either, not much in the way of extras or anything but the picture and sound quality were both top notch for what is now a 30 + yrs old movie.

Keep it that way [Razz] Nah, 3 is an ok watch, agree with a lot of what young warrior said. But the 4th is pathetic and the remake is one of the most pointless scene for scene remakes I've seen.

That´s the one, warrior.
The only good thing was that the movie stars Cynthia Belliveau. She was also in Loose Screws.
Her shower scene in Goofballs is too short though [Big Grin]

If you REALLY want to know more about the movie, moviesaboutgirls.com has a funny review so check it out.

With the exceptions of Private Lessons, Private Resort and Where the Boys Are '84, I don't believe that I have watched those 80s teen sex comedies whose posters are featured on the cinemadumeep site.

In God We Tru$t (1980)

This was a very good comedy written (with Chris Allen) and directed by Marty Feldman.
Starring Marty Feldman, Peter Boyle, Louise Lasser, Andy Kaufman and Richard Pryor.

Kaufman is fantastic as televangelist Armageddon T. Thunderbird
and Pryor gives an excellent performance as G.O.D.

Great cast, clever screenplay and lots of funny scenes.
Check it out!

I Saw What You Did (1988) - Pretty silly movie, quite entertaining, the last minute or so was really cliched though.

 -

The Eliminators (1986) - So horrible yet still enjoyable!

The Dead Zone - 1983

Waste of time.

I know many will disagree with me here but I think all of Cronenberg's movies suck.
