I just watched Sixteen Candles... and then I shot the father/daughter scene with my two-year-old daughter for no good reason:

General Zod: I win. I always win. Is there no one on this planet to even challenge me?

I've always preferred this over the original.

*batteries not included (1988)

Watched this nice little sunday afternoon family sci-fi feature.
Directed by Matthew Robbins (Dragonslayer, The Legend of Billie Jean)and written by Mick Garris.
It was ok, like a long Amazing Stories episode.

Las Vegas Weekend (1986)

This was a decent low budget comedy.

Percy Doolittle (Barry Hickey) is a nerd who thinks that he has invented a new mathematic theory
which helps him to win lots of money in Black Jack (the card game u know)
His almost girlfriend Amanda and other classmates give him money
so he can make a trip to Vegas and prove that his theory works.
Percy wins big and suddenly there´s hot girls everywhere and couple of small time crooks hanging with him.
No more glasses, new clothes, cool haircut, fancy girls, limousines and champagne.
Percy is the talk of the town but how long will it last?

Some cool tunes, Hot red Corvette and typical Las Vegas neon signs.
Not nearly among the best of it´s genre but enjoyable enough.

The Hidden (1987)

Enter FBI Agent Gallagher on the trail of the criminal mastermind he claims is behind the mystery, controlling a ring of secret operatives ruthless enough to throw their own lives away in committing the crimes. -- IMDb

A recent blind buy that I really enjoyed.

After some comments about Chuck Norris' "Silent Rage" in some other posts, I couldn't help but watch it again. The killer is still as creepy as I remembered. Chuck's partner attempts to provide some comic relief...but doesn't really do a good job....I think this movie could have donewithout humor. all in all....still a good flick....cheesy....but good!

Took a few beers last weekend and watched Beer (1985) of course [Smile]
Starring Loretta Swit, Rip Torn, William Russ, David Alan Grier, Saul Stein and Kenneth Mars.
It was a decent comedy and included some hilarious beer commercials.

David Alan Grier in action
