Watched I Ought to Be in Pictures (1982) yesterday.
Directed by Herbert Ross and written by Neil Simon.
Starring Walter Matthau, Dinah Manoff and Ann-Margret.

I think that it was a decent father-daughter relationship dramedy.
The cast did a good job and it was nice to see some familiar faces among the supporting cast:
Lance Guest (The Last Starfighter), Lewis Smith (The Heavenly Kid),
Martin Ferrero (Miami Vice) and Michael Dudikoff in a ten second role.

I'm sure that anyone here who has Comcast (now Xfinity, but I still call it Comcast for simplicity's sake) knows that Comcast On Demand is a haven for '80s B flicks, especially for ninja flicks, teen comedies, and shoot-em-up action movies.

I watched Bulletproof (1988) earlier tonight, a cross between the Rambo and Lethal Weapon series. Now this might sound like I'm trashing the movie, but because it stars the almighty Gary Busey (one of my favorite actors), that's more than enough to make it watchable. Throw in a joint terrorist team comprised of Russians/Mexicans/Nicaraguans/Cubans/Libyans, great one liners ("Bird season's over, butthorn" is my personal fave), a music score that's heavy on sax solos, an ice cream truck that doubles as a holding base for high-powered weaponry, and tons of other things I barely have time to type out, and you've got one of the most entertaining action movies ever made. I would recommend watching Bulletproof back-to-back with Eye of the Tiger, another fun '80s action movie with Gary Busey in the lead.

Oh yeah, the plot? Busey's a cop named Frank McBain who goes across the Mexican border to retrieve a secret prototype tank known as the ThunderBlast that's being held by a multicultural band of terrorists along with a team of American soldiers. Also starring Darlene Fluegel as McBain's girlfriend and Captain of the captured squad, Henry Silva as a Libyan Colonel, William Smith as a Russian Major, and Thalmus Rasulala as McBain's police buddy.

Bulletproof sounds interesting, featuring the legendary "woodface" Henry Silva [Smile]
I own Eye of the Tiger and it rocks.

Deadly Impact is another one i need to see.

Watched another Neil Simon movie Max Dugan Returns (1983)
It was once again directed by Herbert Ross.
Pretty entertaining drama this one.

The cast is great including Jason Robards, Marsha Mason, Matthew Broderick and Donald Sutherland.
This was Broderick´s first feature film, just before WarGames.

I saw HtD once in the 80s, bought and watched it about three years ago
and couldn´t get into it, at all.
This happens very rarely to me when i´m watching a movie from the 80s.
Sorry [Cool]

Just watched Only When I Laugh (1981)
Written by Neil Simon and directed by Glenn Jordan.
Starring Marsha Mason, Kristy McNichol, James Coco and Joan Hackett.
It was also nice to see Kevin Bacon in a small role.
The cast was awesome.

During last week i watched four Neil Simon movies and i think that this was the best.
Lots of funny dialogue and fantastic characters.
None of the movies had a "traditonal family" and all had at least one baseball scene.

After all this heavy dialogue,
i need to clear my head with a brainless action flick next [Cool]

i watched 2 very underated 80s gems - 1989's walter hill directed johnny handsome starring mickey rourke, morgan freeman, forest whitaker, lance henriksen, ellen barkin and elizabeth mcgovern. wow! what a cast! seen it countless times and i feel it simply does not get the cred it deserves! then i watched burt reynolds las vegas set heat from 1986,also starring howard hesseman, karen young, diana scarwid and peter macnicol. along with malone this is my favourite 2 burt flicks from the mid to late 80s, the scene where burt is teaching pete macnicol to fight and he slips burt one in the gut then punches him on the nose had me laughing out loud!the european cut of the film is different from the us cut,in the uk cut (warning large spoiler) pete macnicol's character dies where as the us cut goes for a happier ending which has him survive! another great underappreciated 80s flick!

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988)

Lawrence and Freddie are con-men; big-time and small time respectively. They unsuccessfully attempt to work together only to find that this town (on the French Mediterranean coast) aint big enough for the two of them. They agree to a "loser leaves" bet. The bet brings out the best/worse in the two. Interesting twist at the end. -- IMDb

8/10

Hugely underrated comedy. Caine and Martin make a great double act. -

I remember watching Dangerous Game back in the 80s.
It was a pretty good Australian thriller directed by Stephen Hopkins (Predator 2, Judgment Night)

i second that bernie! notice judgement night and predator 2 have the same piece of music when someone's being chased ,the only difference is in predator 2 there being pursued by a 7 ft alien and in judgement night there being pursued by a 6ft 2" denis leary! i'd rather take my chances with the preadator!
