Hammett is really underrated. I like it a lot, particularly the excellent performances.

From a Whisper to a Scream...very creepy little movie, with Vincent Price as the "host" for four short stories. Very entertaining.

'Can't Stop the Music'.

I couldn't see the homosexual undertones people always talk about. Just seemed like a fun movie about aging divas and men in tight shorts, with lots of sweaty disco dancing.

Seriously, it was as bad as I remembered, and the 'YMCA' scene is almost unbelievable.

I'm Gonna Git You Sucka (1988). Keenan Ivory Wayans, Bernie Casey, Antonio Fargas, Steve James, Isaac Hayes, Jim Brown, Ja'net Dubois, Dawnn Lewis, John Vernon, Clu Galager, Kadeem Hardison, Damon Wayans, George James and Marc Figueroa. Utterly hilarious spoof of 70s blaxploitation films in which would be urban hero Jack Spade, on returning home from the army, vows to avenge the death of his brother June Bug, who died from a o.g. (overdose of gold chains!) [Smile] [Big Grin] [Razz]

Turk 182!

Jimmy Lynch is angry because his older brother, who was injured as a result of an off duty fire rescue, is denied benefits by the city. At the same time, Mayor Tyler is embroiled in a political scandal that he denies all previous knowledge of. Jimmy begins painting "Tyler Knew, Turk 182" as an embarrassment to the mayor. The mayor is furious at this grafitti appearing all over the city and orders the police to find the artist. Jimmy's "Turk 182" spraypaints continue to appear.

-- IMDb

This was my first ever viewing -- It's not the worst movie I've ever seen, but I doubt I'd bother watching it again.

Kim Cattrall was certainly the best thing about it.

Greetings everyone, I'm new to the boards and am looking forward to getting to know everyone here.

I recently watched The Thing (1982). We had a snowstorm here a couple weeks ago in Beverly so to celebrate the occasion I popped my copy of The Thing in my DVD player. Kurt Russell gave a great performance in that one, especially his speech to the other research team members about the alien and any one of them could be the monster in disguise. The special effects still stand up against today's CGI-dominated landscape.
