Damn, that´s cheap! He actually has the right poses (he sits on the original though) but wrong backgrounds. Well, at least there´s palmtrees in all of them...

I'll be damned. I didn't even realise those part 2 and 3 were actually the same pics as on the original ,with only the background changed.
I like the original artwork for part 2. That whole 'red sky' look it has, is a nice clue to the difference in visual style between Martin Brest's original and Tony Scott's more flashy look of part 2.

quote:I can live with the St. Elmo´s Fire cover art but "About Last Night..." Horrible! On the other hand, the original poster also looked pretty bland.
Agreed on both counts. I hate the tagline for St Elmo's though: "You can always count on your friends. Don't ever let the fire go out." It feels so... clunky.
I can remember watching About Last Night and St. Elmo's as a kid, and thinking how sophisticated and 'older' everyone seemed. Looking at them on the covers now, they all seem so young. I feel old.

Got this one in the mail today. It's been on my wish list for years. Managed to get my hands on an awesome used copy for $25.

See, I don't find this movie nearly as bad as others do. I actually liked it. There are far worse ones out there in my opinion. I'd take Fright Night 2 over that twilight crap any day of the week. So considering the price it goes for on ebay and places I thought $25 was fair.

i like fright night 2 tiffany, though i think it's not quite the classic the 1985 original was it's still a lot fun to watch.
fright night 2 i believe was discontinued some time back on dvd so prices soon shot up so to actually get your hands on a copy for $25 dollars is pretty good going.
on amazon uk over here prices range from over £100 uk pounds - equivalent to 158 dollars for a new copy and between £39 - 100 uk pounds -equivalent to 61 dollars - 100 dollars)for a used one.
so sounds like you got yourself a bit of a bargain.
like i said i personally like fright night 2 but do not own it,would like a copy but even on vhs over here it sells for good money.

i've got the region 1 kiss dvd johnny, great movie,i've always had a soft spot for joanna pacula from the first time i saw her in - not quite jerusalem back in the early 80s and she's great here, plus that sure is one vicious moggy at the end.
hopefully johnny at some point some of these will get the blu ray treatment but i wouldn't hold your breath,i remember waiting for the sean s cunningham movie - the new kids starring james spader to come out on dvd and grew 10 years + older in the process.

Awww, what a cute little kittycat that is !
I do have The New Kids on region 1 dvd. Bare-bones disc, but an excellent quality transfer. Looks like this one is currently out-of-print too.
I downloaded a copy of The Kiss some time ago.. but it was pretty goddamn awfull. The image didn't move fluidly, and the sound was out-of-sync with the video.
Yeah, i guess these titles don't have Sony's top-priority when it comes to giving them the blu-ray treatment.

I've been looking for a copy of this one for a LONG time but couldn't believe the prices people were charging for it. On amazon here in canada it sell for $100+ used and $230+ new which is insane. So I jumped at the $25 price. Now if I can just get my hands on a copy of Bullies and The Midnight Hour I can die happy!

Yep, there are worse flicks but that's not really saying much. There's a few things I liked about it tho. Twilight is one of the greatest comedies ever haha Posts: 3173 | From: uk | Registered: May 2007 | Site Updates: 0

i saw new kids,or striking back as it was known here in the u.k more or less within the first couple of weeks of its original release on to video and it's been one of my favourites ever since, my parents who watched it with me hated it with a vengeance and they were normally pretty easy going when it came to on screen violence and bad language.
I think it might be because i feel it has got a bit of a nasty edge to it,what with the animal cruelty, attempted rape, beatings, bad language etc.etc.
I never actually realised till I got the region 1 DVD was that the original UK tape was slightly cut,not by a lot - about 13 seconds in total.
There's 3 scenes at the end of the movie that were cut - when dutra gets hold of abbie in the funpark and starts to strip her,the scene where one of dutra's gang gets covered in blood and mauled by the dog ,that was slightly edited and the final scene that was cut was the very end fight with dutra involving the gas pump.
Definitely a classic of its type. A great movie.

i don't own or have ever seen midnight hour (heard good things about it though)tiffany but i do have a region 1 dvd of bullies,it's a really good backwoods hilllbilly revenge flick,if you haven't seen it it's definetly worth tracking down,i purchased my copy years back,it was a blind buy for me as i had never seen it before but i was pleased i took a chance as i really enjoyed it.
if you like these type of revenge flicks such as bullies have you ever seen - brother's in arms from 1988,it get a loads of bad reviews but i thought it was really entertaining, worth checking out if you get the chance.

Warrior, I watched Bullies awhile back when it was on youtube and loved it. So I've been in search of a copy for my collection. It falls into the category of most oop dvd's though with a price tag of well over $100 used. I'm holding out hope that I'll stumble on another great deal at some point. I have a burnt copy of The Midnight Hour but it's all choppy and freezes. I will definitely be checking out Brothers In Arms.

As i said before, it seems like many of the older MGM dvd's are rapidly going out-of-print here. Well, here in Holland we can easily order the same discs from the UK where supplies may last a little longer. But the Dutch releases (which are identical to the UK ones) can currently be found for as low as 2 euro, while stocks last.
Picked up this one :
To be honest, i didn't know this movie. But i searched for the trailer on Youtube, and i must say it looked pretty decent to me.
yeh i've always been curious about what echo park is like i remember when it first came out over here it was released by vestron video, they gave it a pretty cool cover and the film looked like a lot of fun,i've got it on my blockbuster online rental list but it's way down in the pecking order it's about 250 something in my queue.
so if i'm lucky i'll probably be about 80 by the time i get to see it.
i think atomik might have caught this one actually johnny,i'm sure he's mentioned it before.
